  1. 'I was lucky the car was not broken'published at 16:04 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

Sebastian Vettel, who comes second, says: "It was a tough race, obviously we were out of the position with the speed we had, I had a good start, was in third, we did well then it was a bit tricky knowing when to come out, had an issue with the pit stop and came out behind Valtteri.

"His tyres were getting worse and worse and I was quite confident I could get him. P2 was not what we wanted but is the best we could have done.

"I got hit from behind (by Bottas), I was not sure what had happened and I was lucky the car was not broken and we could carry on."

Lewis Hamilton wins the Hungarian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton in his post race interview: "What a beautiful day, what a great car. We've had an amazing job by the team and we came here with Ferrari pushing in practice.

"I was sweating so much. It was so hot and very physical but I was able to manage the pace, it's the celebration with the team which kills me..."

When asked what he will be doing during the summer break: "I'm not really the lay down on the beach type. I'll be staying active in training and getting ready for the second half of the season. I'm really proud of the team, I hope they keep pushing when we come back."

A great performance from Daniel Ricciardo, who comes fourth. He started 12th, a bang of the tyres with Marcus Ericsson on the very first lap dropped him to 16th, but he recovered to get fourth, just missing out on a podium.

Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 live

Another scrap with Bottas, but with Ricciardo this time pushing the Red Bull driver off the track.

It was a desperate move, Bottas has no grip, he defended the same depth as Ricciardo with a damaged car and tyres which are shot. He descended clean into the side of Ricciardo. Two incidents both with Bottas at fault, has his head gone?

  11. Bottas told to give up a positionpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

"Give back the position to Ricciardo," Bottas is told.

    "Why?"

  14. Is Vettel's car OK?published at 15:47 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

    Jack Nicholls
Radio 5 live Formula 1 commentator

Is Vettel's car OK? That could be crucial for the championship.

It was suicidal from Bottas, Vettel had better tyres, but Bottas saw a glint of an opportunity on the inside and went for it, but that door was always going to shut. He got it a bit wrong there, but desperation and almost really.

Vettel's team radio: "Tyres are fine, tyres are fine."

  15. Postpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

Lewis Hamilton is absolutely racing away with this. The lead is now 23 seconds clear of Vettel.

Kimi Raikkonen also got past Valtteri Bottas in that sequence. Bottas' front wing is a mess, if he has to come in he will lose fourth place to Daniel Ricciardo.

  17. Bottas damagedpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

Sebastian Vettel gets past Valtteri Bottas, the Finn tries to get back into second and goes into the back of the German. Late drama.

Did Vettel allow enough space? Parts of the front wing fly off Bottas' car, but he can still be out there.

    Lap 63/70

    Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 live

If Raikkonen can attack Bottas he can force him to use more life in his rear tyres, which Bottas is already struggling with.

Raikkonen looks close but it would temporarily drop Vettel back down to fourth and only later on he might get it back if Raikkonen is kind and if he can get past Bottas as well.

Bottas is second, Vettel 0.4 seconds behind, Raikkonen a further 0.7 seconds adrift.
