    Lap 61/70

What of Daniel Ricciardo? Eighteen seconds behind Kimi Raikkonen, who is fourth, and 32 seconds clear of Pierre Gasly in sixth.

From 12th to 16th to fifth is Ricciardo's day, but fifth may well be as good as it gets. Still, he will take that after where he started.

But it shows what could have been for Red Bull had Max Verstappen's engine decided not to fall apart.

  2. No DRS for Vettel?published at 15:36 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

    Lap 60/70

    Jack Nicholls
Radio 5 live Formula 1 commentator

No DRS for Vettel, we haven't heard a radio message to hear why or how but he hasn't opened up the DRS and that is really what he needs, if overtaking is difficult around this circuit you at least need DRS.

    Lap 59/70

Valtteri Bottas, once again, just like he did last week, again plays the perfect team-mate role, holding off Sebastian Vettel's charge as Hamilton disappears into the distance.

    Lap 59/70

Lewis Hamilton's lead is now a huge 15 seconds. Second is very much up for grabs, but the champagne is heading for Hamilton, unless something random and dramatic happens.

  6. Bottas is strugglingpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

    Lap 58/70

    Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 live

This is a long time (15 laps) for Bottas to hold on wearing old soft tyres. Raikkonen is going to come past if he's not careful, and Vettel is only half a second behind.

  7. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

    Lap 57/70

An extra three points for Vettel and Ferrari if they can get past Bottas and up into second.

This is how it stood at the start of the day but you can add 25 points to Hamilton, 18 to Bottas, 15 to Vettel and 12 to Raikkonen at the moment.

If it stays like this Hamilton's lead into the summer break will be a whopping 27 points, a wider gap than at any time of this season so far.

    Lap 55/70

    Jennie Gow
BBC Radio 5 live pit-lane reporter

Jack Nicholls: "There's been a lot of scrutiny on Mercedes strategy throughout the whole season..."

Jennie: "They're trying to be cooler, calmer and lot more logical about this one. Will it be Bottas or Hamilton who comes in (under the safety car) and it was nobody, no business going on and the team are just watching for the next few laps."

  10. Listen: Slow pit stop hinders Vettelpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 29 July 2018

    Lap 55/70

This bad pit stop could well cost Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. He should have came back out second, a pit stop blunder later and he was third.

    Lap 53/70

    Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 live

Jack Nicholls: Do you think Mercedes will be congratulating themselves on having won this or Ferrari should've been at least second in this?

Jolyon: I think they will be breathing a sigh of relief because at around lap 30, Ferrari were looking good and Mercedes would have been sweating. They allowed Vettel the chance to come out in second but Ferrari didn't take it.

Fun and games at Mercedes. The mechanics get out there, just in case, but then a massive anti-climax and no cars then greet them. As you were.

The closest battle in the top 10 is the fight for second. Valtteri Bottas is 2.6 seconds clear of Sebastian Vettel after a poor pitstop from Ferrari. Frustration for the German and the Italians.
