Where's Vettel? No podium for him, no post-race interview. He's off. Furious, hunting out some stewards.

Hamilton wins because of Vettel penalty

Mike Greenwood: From the onboard camera, Vettel made a clear a clear movement on his steering wheel to turn to the outside of the track. He should have stayed on the inside line. Clear penalty

James Townsend: Watching the incident, I really don't know what else Vettel was supposed to do or hell, even could do in that situation with loss of grip by going on the grass

Julien A: This GP is SHAME!!!!!!!

Hamilton: "That's not the way I wanted to win but I would've been past, thank you everyone."

We are going to have a massive Sebastian Vettel strop here. He's getting out of his car ready to go and confront the race stewards straight away. No parc ferme for him, he's off to remonstrate.

Is it fair to say again another fluff from Vettel?

  7. Hamilton wins because of Vettel's five-second penaltypublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 9 June 2019
    Breaking

Sebastian Vettel crosses the line first, but that five-second penalty absolutely haunts him as we expected it would.

Lewis Hamilton is second on track, but first in the history books.

That is win number 78 for Hamilton in his career and his seventh in Canada, level with Michael Schumacher.

Without that mistake from Vettel, I don't think I've seen enough to convince me that Lewis Hamilton would've won the race.

Something deeply unsatisfying about a race win coming when you don't finish first on the track, but that is what is going to happen.

  13. Postpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 9 June 2019

Charles Leclerc could still get second here. He's only 6.3 seconds off Vettel, who has a five second penalty infringement.

Lance Stroll zooms past Carlos Sainz, as does Daniil Kvyat. Carlos Sainz had two points a few seconds ago, now he has none. Ninth to 11th in only seconds.

Canadian Stroll up to ninth in Canada.
