The most jumbled up grid of the season so far, with no Mercedes driver on the front row.

Charles Leclerc, looking for his first ever race win, starts in pole with 2018 winner Max Verstappen alongside him. Valtteri Bottas starts third with Lando Norris, in only the ninth race of his career, in fourth.

Championship leader Lewis Hamilton will have to fight his way up from fifth, while Sebastian Vettel is languishing back in ninth.

We get going at 12:30 BST with the race starting at 14:10 BST. Very much hope you can all join us. It's going to be great.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc took pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix as world champion Lewis Hamilton was hit with a three-place grid penalty.

Leclerc, 21, set two laps quick enough for pole and ended the session 0.259 seconds clear of Hamilton.

The Mercedes driver was subsequently penalised for "unnecessarily impeding" Alfa Romeo's Kimi Raikkonen in Q1. Hamilton will now start fifth, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen promoted to second and Valtteri Bottas third.

Britain's Lando Norris will line up in fourth place, the McLaren rookie initially having qualified in sixth but the beneficiary of both Hamilton's penalty and a five-place drop for Haas' Kevin Magnussen, who has been forced to change his gearbox.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel failed to go out in Q3 because of an engine problem. Vettel's car had a problem with the air-pressure line to the engine and Ferrari had to withdraw him from qualifying after failing to fix it in time.

Lewis Hamilton has just posted these messages on Instagram, in reaction to his three-place grid penalty that will drop him down to fifth.

Jeroen Demmendaal: How anyone could argue with this being a penalty, or not see it coming, is completely beyond me. Blindingly obvious from the moment it happened. Anyway, this all lines up pretty neatly for another Max Verstappen win tomorrow

Andy Chapman: Disappointing but justified. I still expect Hamilton to make progress from P5, especially with Vettel behind him.

We started off the weekend asking what was wrong with Formula 1 after the dullest of dull races in France last week.

Now, this one is set up to be an absolute cracker. Just what the sport we all love badly needed.

Jason Kurtz: This could be the best race of the season tomorrow! If Ferrari muck it up...

Lee Rice: Suppose they had to really...couldn't do one without the other.

Ferrari fan: Unfortunately the FIA shot themselves in the foot by giving Seb the same penalty last year even though the other driver was already into the next session in quali. So I think they had to for consistency.

DW10: Suppose they got to try and do what ever they can to stop Hamilton winning the title before the summer break.

It means Lando Norris starts FOURTH! What a performance from the young Briton. His best ever race finish was the sixth place he secured in Bahrain in the second race of the season.

Tomorrow could be a very special day indeed for him.

Here it is. This is the incident in qualifying that has led to Lewis Hamilton being demoted to fifth after originally qualifying second.

In the FIA Formula 2 Championship, Japan's Nobuharu Matsushita has just taken his first ever Feature Race win in Austria.

He overtook then-leader Nyck de Vries with five laps to go and then held on for the victory.

Italy's Luca Ghiotto takes second and Brazil's Sergio Sette Camara crossed the line third, but drops down to fifth after a time penalty following a collision with team-mate Nicholas Latifi.

De Vries gets moved up to third and France's Anthonie Hubert inherits fourth spot.

If you are going to get yourself on pole, you may as well set a new lap record in doing so.

Here are the best bits from what has been another dramatic day, with Sebastian Vettel failing to get out there for Q3 and his team-mate Charles Leclerc taking pole.

And here is the man in question, George Russell, with an apology to Danill Kvyat.

The incident happened in qualifying and forced the Russian, after going extremely wide, to say over team radio "I could've killed someone".

More penalties. George Russell has been given a three-place grid penalty. He joins Magnussen, Hulkenberg, Albon and Sainz in being penalised this weekend. Still waiting to hear if Lewis Hamilton joins them on the naughty step.
