Carlos Sainz sweeps around the outside of Pierre Gasly coming out of Turn Three to move into a sixth. It is a move that earns a round of applause from those watching in the McLaren garage. Sainz's team-mate Lando Norris is fifth.

Racing5: Controversial and not at all popular opinion. Checo is once again having a great race and is yes, is a more experienced and stronger than Stroll...but only seems to shine spectacularly when his seat it in danger. Should have been displaying this form throughout.

DanRunning: Surely Bottas has no excuse. Go back 2 weeks and Hamilton will show you that the Mercedes is fast from any position.

Perez: "Are you falling asleep? Wake up, wake up."

Racing Point: "Yes, we're here."

Sergio Perez checks in on the radio to see if anyone is there, telling them to "wake up, wake up". He is assured they are there but with the Racing Point in third and pretty comfortable, there probably was not a lot to say.

McLaren: "Gasly is 2.8 - let's go and get him."

Sainz: "Yeah, Gasly will be easy."

Max Verstappen has the fastest lap he is seemingly after as he does a 1:32.014.

Carlos Sainz is urged to go after Pierre Gasly and take sixth. Sainz is currently 1.8 seconds behind Gasly.

Max Verstappen has nothing to lose. He rejoins in second after a quicker pit stop and he can now go and have a charge. Red Bull with nothing to lose, once again rolling the dice to see what comes out.

Max Verstappen pits again, moving onto fresh mediums.

Looks like he is going for the fastest lap point with 10 laps to go.

Pete Bonnington has been on the radio to Lewis Hamilton telling him where he is losing out to Max Verstappen. He said, apart from race management, it is his speed coming out of Turns Eight and 10.

Lando Norris catches up to and then overtakes Pierre Gasly to get up into fifth. His next target is a long way down the road with Alex Albon 17 seconds ahead inn fourth.

"Only losses to Verstappen apart from management are initial braking turn eight and nine," Lewis Hamilton is informed.

The new world champion, on the hunt for win number 11 of the season, is four seconds ahead of Verstappen out in front.

Daniel Eckersley: It's not a blanket one-stop or blanket two-stop that makes it interesting, it's when it's perched right on the edge of either.

Andrew Davies: Why not for the last race of this season - reverse qualifying positions - so fastest is at the back slowest at the front - its a one-off race and could be a TV spectacle and give the smaller teams more coverage - nothing to lose for the big teams.

Valtteri Bottas is making good progress in his recovery drive as he sweeps past Esteban Ocon into ninth and then uses DRS to pull away from the Renault.

Albon is having an Albon race. For me it is not enough to justify him staying with the team. He has to be beating Perez. He is not having a good or bad race - it is upper midfield. Perez is having a good solid race, looking after the tyres and is ultimately faster than Albon.

George Russell is down in 15th so a first point in F1 is looking difficult. He's right behind Kevin Magnussen at the moment, but Daniil Kvyat is a long way in the distance after Magnussen.

Carlos Sainz is frustrated as a couple of tenths seconds extra in the pit stop is enough to leave him behind Charles Leclerc after his latest stop. "Arghhhh," growls Sainz, but his frustration is short-lived as he overtakes Leclerc with little trouble soon after. He's now eighth.

Former Jordan and Jaguar F1 technical director, Gary Anderson has tweeted his thoughts on what may have caused Romain Grosjean's crash.

A 1:32.989 for Max Verstappen helps the Red Bull cut Lewis Hamilton's advantage slightly to 3.1 seconds.
