The wind looks to have picked up just a little but it's nothing more than a breeze.
Here we go then.

George Russell has been looking pretty strong today but it is race pace that matters - and he clearly was disappointed at the end of the Portuguese Grand Prix. Williams need to focus on that race pace and hopefully, that's what they have been thinking about this weekend.
Jolyon Palmer has just pointed out it has been almost a decade since Lewis Hamilton failed to qualify on the front row here.
Quite a record.
Mercedes have taken a qualifying one-two in Barcelona in seven of the past eight races.

These guys are capable of chewing the fat for ten minutes and then still finding the headspace to deliver in Q1 when it comes around. Maybe it's slightly unsettling but it was inevitable as five minutes before we were meant to go green, race director Michael Masi was stood at the barriers down at Turn Nine!
Drivers are in their cars in the garage. We're waiting as a result of this mini delay. Does this put a driver off? You'd want to just get going, surely?

Ian Warrender: I've got a feeling this is the 100th pole for Lewis, 4th for Lando, (is that too much?), and hopefully a top ten start for Ricciardo.
Karen Waddy: Prediction: Mazepin to spin!

All through practice there has been little to choose between Max Verstappen and the leading Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton managed to improve on a second lap and I think Mercedes were holding something back. So question now is: What do Red Bull have in the tank as well?
We'll see when everyone takes the shackles off in qualifying...

Ade: Line up for the first Barcelona race in 1991 - Berger, Mansell, Senna, Patrese, Schumacher, Prost. Not a bad front 3 rows!
Ah. We'll manage, I guess.

Just 10 minutes to go now. Excitement is building in Barcelona while the temperatures are also rising.

LFC96: Qualifying predictions - 1. Valtteri Bottas 2. Max Verstappen 3. Lewis Hamilton.
Ed: Lando for a cheeky 5th on the grid!
Karen: Lewis Hamilton on pole, Max Verstappen, then hopefully Lando Norris. Also George Russell to make it into Q3 please.
It's all quiet in the McLaren garage...

Bertie Black: Qualy prediction. Going out on a limb and saying 1. Max Verstappen 2. Lewis Hamilton 3. Lando Norris (our surprise package). Why not :D
For anyone in need of reminding this is how the drivers standings look going into this weekend.
It's tight at the top. Which driver will strike the next blow in the title fight?
The Ferraris looked decent this morning. Charles Leclerc finished FP3 third. He'll be in the mix you'd think.
