You feel for these smaller teams when they have a big crash. Haas will now face a huge repair bill. That may well cost them now in terms of their future development.

What must Charles Leclerc be thinking now?

The Monegasque native has never scored a point at his home grand prix, didn't even start the race last year despite claiming pole position and is now down in fourth spot having again started at the front of the grid.

Surely he can't take even more Monte Carlo heartbreak?

Red Flag now to repair the barrier.

The marshals are sweeping away the remaining debris as the safety car continues to lead the drivers around the circuit.

Red Bull team principle Christian Horner: "It's a very dynamic race out there - we've got the call right onto the inter at the right time. Great lap from Checo on his out lap and we managed to get both Ferraris so that was great team work.

"I would be surprised if they red flag this - we should get going again.

"We're not even half way so there's a long way to go in this race - we've just got to be on our toes."

A horrible crash to see. Once again another Haas car has broken in half, like Romain Grosjean in Bahrain. It's good Mick Schumacher has walked away and the car has done what it needs to do - but it looked like a horrible crash.

The onboard of Mick Schumacher's crash is quite frightening. Even the camera does a full 360 spin.

Marshals are on the scene the mangled wreckage of the Haas is being lifted onto the recovery truck.

Mick Schumacher's crash happened in the second part of the swimming pool - it's really fast there and the car has suddenly just snapped.

James Stevenson: You don’t like to see the back end of a chassis not attached to a racing car.

It is disappointment all round at Haas, as Kevin Magnussen has also retired from the race.

Full safety car has now been deployed.

The rear of Mick Schumacher's car has broken away as it is designed to do for safety reasons. A big impact there.

That's a nasty one for the Haas driver at Turn 15. The car is a complete mess.

Schumacher is out of the car and is OK.
