Big lock-up from Sergio Perez, that is going to be tough to live with for the next 40 minutes. The race leader is going to have to live with a flat-spot for the duration of the race.

Robert Graves: Ferrari got greedy and tried to get Carlos and Charles out onto slicks. They should have left Charles out, Carlos then could’ve got tyres warmed up before Red Bull would have pitted.

Andrew: Ferrari have made a mess of race pit strategy and now could have compounded that error with their hard tyre choice after the red flag restart.

Sergio Perez locks up but still leads after the restart. Carlos Sainz is just behind, with Max Verstappen in third.

There is a problem with drivers trying to un-lap themselves. You don't want to go offline and hit a wet patch on slick tyres and go into the wall while you are trying to un-lap yourself.

Just Mick: Only possible justification for rolling start I can think of is that one side of grid is still wet and grid start would be unfair.

Sergio Perez showed his potential around the Monaco streets during third practice on Saturday. Is this one set up for the Mexican to take victory today?

    Oh dear.

Fergie, gives us a weather update...

"Just ahead of race resuming, air temp is 21.9C and track 28.3C. FIA is advising teams that no rain is expected "...until at least 17:30 local (16:30 BST)."

  16. 'Ferrari have dropped an absolute clanger'published at 16:13 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

From one-two on the grid, Ferrari have just lost this race on strategy.

Charles Leclerc has just thrown that position away. He is now fourth in a four-car race, really.

He is disconsolate. They said "there is no more rain and you can go to the end" and he said "oh great". Sarcasm at it's best from Charles Leclerc.

Ferrari have dropped this one in a big way. Carlos Sainz's strategy was decent, heading for the slicks you could see reason for it, but the tyre blankets are set to a lower temperature this year so on the hard tyres particularly he did not get them fired up as quickly as he needed, nor did Leclerc.

So Red Bull beat them on that part.

But for Ferrari to let Sergio Perez, from third, to jump Leclerc is an absolute clanger on a track where track position is everything.

Lapped cars can overtake once the race has resumed: Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda, Guanyu Zhou, Nicholas Latifi and Alex Albon.

That radio confusing message for Charles Leclerc is very much like the Mercedes one Lewis Hamilton received a few seasons ago - but without the "in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in, in" that Pete Bonnington gave us.
