I'm astonished that car is still running, he (George Russell) hit the wall, a pretty big hit, we saw bits flying off the car, the walls damaged, wheel imprints on the wall.

Mercedes want some feedback on the car after George Russell's shunt. "It's a bent, but it's OK," says the Briton.

Lewis Hamilton asks Pete Bonnington where the debris has come from? "Erm... it's George," comes the reply.

The Ferrari's have not pitted, neither has Sergio Perez, Perez is on the hard tyre, Ferrari are gambling, again it's about track position and using their pace. They were getting frustrated with Norris behind Leclerc.

I think Alonso realises at this stage in the race, Lewis Hamilton has just enough pace to keep him behind, potentially falling back slightly trying to get some more air over the Aston Martin wings and is playing the long game here.

Lando Norris and Alex Albon almost touch coming out of the pits too! A few unsafe releases for the stewards to mull over.

George Russell has come out of surgery and is running in P19.

The exit of the chicane was George Russell's downfall. His Mercedes smacked the wall and picked massive damage to the W14. He's back in the pits now for repairs.

Watch out! Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso nearly collide in the pit lane as the pair to try get out first onto the track.

George Russell has had some sort of contact with the wall and he's lost the entire right hand side of the front wing. The right rear tyre is completely deflated. Big damage onto that Mercedes.

Full safety car is out. George Russell is on the move but that Mercedes is wounded. Cars are diving into the pits.

George Russell is in the wall!

The DRS train of cars is as long as the Orient Express. Nico Hulkenberg decided to hop off and end his first stint to change his boots.

Fernando Alonso is now the green meant in a Mercedes sandwich.

Pierre Gasly started on the softs but the Alpine needs a change of rubber, so into the pits he goes.

Oscar Piastri catches up with Nico Hulkenberg's Haas on the main straight. A shot of DRS later and the McLaren has passed the German driver and swiped fifth spot.

As we can see Logan Sargeant his car being rolled out behind the barricades, he's out of the car and ok. No contact to that car as far as I know, it sounds like an engine or a technical issue.

That end of VSC has actually given Max Verstappen a three-second advantage over the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton.

Charles Leclerc is told to cool the brakes a tad as he tries to chase down Lando Norris' papaya McLaren for eighth place.

Fernando Alonso is very much keeping Lewis Hamilton in his sights for the podium positions. The gap between Hamilton and Verstappen is about two seconds though at the moment, Hamilton still there but he crucially will not have DRS, Alonso who is only about four-tenths behind Hamilton will have DRS, that leaves Lewis Hamilton exposed.
