    Norris, a really good job there, he has a good first sector, so does Russell but then that middle sector they lose a little bit and then certainly for Russell he's about three tenths down in the last sector from Sainz. The Mercedes are actually struggling a little bit in that final sector.

    Sainz is gone he is in a different league in that sector, he's three tenths quicker than Russell in the middle sector.

    Fernando Alonso falls down to P6 as Lando Norris slips into third on the grid. George Russell has been swift in Singapore so far but his first banker lap is only good enough for fourth spot.

    Charles Leclerc needs to fine 0.251 seconds to take back-to-back pole positions at Marina Bay.

    Soft rubber has been used all the way qualifying so far and Fernando Alonso is next to cross the line and go onto provisional pole.

    But the Ferraris are here and drop Alonso down the order. Sainz is quickest. Leclerc second.

    Max Verstappen jumped out of the car and walked straight off after failing to make it through to the pole shootout. We've seen the world champion win from low down on the grid but is this weekend Red Bulls dominance takes a blow?

    Carlos Sainz, George Russell and Fernando Alonso were the top three in that session.

    There's no bite there in the front end of his (Verstappen) Red Bull, just noticing he's overtaken a lot of cars to give himself the best to try and be out of the traffic but so far it's not worked for him because he's not even set a personal best sector.
