Baxter Boys' journey to the final of the U16 Boys category started in Round One in Halesowen, where they finished in second place behind AllWeather.

The team progressed to Birmingham for the regional semi-finals where they scraped into the last four, finishing fourth in the group, level on points with fifth place but with a goal difference better by one goal.

The team admit they were lucky to remain in the competition and then again faced AllWeather, their conquers from Round One, in the semi final. Following a 1-1 scoreline after normal time, the tie went to penalties and Baxter Boys came through 2-0.

A 2-1 win in the final followed and the team booked their place in today's Grand Final.

We have a guest reporter out in Sheffield today, Steve Rogers, here's his story.

My name is Steve Rogers and just over 10 years ago I was knocked down by a stolen car whilst crossing the road in Sheffield where I was a student. I suffered a severe head injury and spent 9 months in hospital.

About 18 months ago I started playing walking football at Beechcroft. I was looking for a team sport that I could play with my disabilities. I cannot run so walking football was perfect! My balance has improved immensely and I really enjoy the banter with the guys. I'm too young for the team so they asked me if I could take some photographs at the Peoples Cup games as I studied photography after my accident.

Later this year I'm going out to Namibia with the Silverlining charity to help in a remote rural school close to the desert. The Silverlining charity supports individuals with acquired brain injury to rebuild their lives by helping others. I hope to be able to use my photography skills while I'm in Namibia.

Carol later confessed that Crawley COGs - who will be playing in the Female Veterans category from 12:30 - were carrying out their last-minute preparations last night in the pub.

Presumably with soft drinks and long discussions about tactics? ;-)

Ole United come into today's finals with good pedigree as beaten finalists in last year's FA People's Cup.

The team is based in Stoke and are competing in the U16 Girls category in Sheffield after qualifying from their regional semi-final in Manchester.

Last year, Ole United featured on the BBC TV coverage of the competition, with England goalkeeper Rachel Finnis Brown, and, as a result, now have a shirt sponsor!
