The Sprowston Girls have been together since playing in the Under-9s - that's a whopping eight seasons playing as a team!

With a lack of girls 5-a-side tournaments in the girls local area of Norwich, they've previously had to compete alongside boys. Now they're on a mission to show other girls they can play just as well as the guys!

The players specialise in different areas of the game; from Becky, a silky player who keeps the ball moving, to Nicole, who is the powerhouse of the team, and Molly, the 'ginger ninja' who can dart past the opposition in the blink of an eye!

Team manager, Adrian, says reaching the finals was the icing on the cake on what's already been an amazing season.

"The players have an unconditional love for football and their work ethic is second to none." He says.

With a busy few weeks ahead of cup matches, tournaments and of course GSCE exams- the Norwich-based team will be hoping to continue their long undefeated streak, which stretches over three years!!

Plymouth Argyle played a big part in today's Under-16 girls section, not least in their epic 34-penalty shootout win over Kempston Rovers in the semi-final.

They couldn't quite match Sprowston in the final, but at least they got a stellar debrief in the shape of Arsenal and England star Alex Scott.

    Some inspiration for next year...

They looked like ones to watch when we saw them in the first round back in February, cutting a swathe through their section on home turf in Norwich.

The games got tougher, but they just kept raising their level and are deserving winners of the FA People's Cup Under-16 girls category.

    Congratulations to Sprowston Girls!

The Pinfold Pumas formed just over 18 months ago, when one player surpassed the age limit for the youth team, but was determined to continue playing- and so the Pumas were born!

The team consists of a mix of players with various disabilities from mental health, learning disabilities and a couple of ex-army men who suffered injuries whilst on duty.

Team coach Jason, highlights the team captain, Danny, who caught his eye since he joined the club.

"Danny suffers from mental health problems and is generally a very reserved and quiet guy. But on the pitch he's a totally different character and he definitely owns the role of captain."

The Pumas didn't expect to get to the final of the People's Cup. "After winning all our games so far, I'm trying to keep the players from getting big-headed!", Jason says.
