It was not until the 67th Masters, in 2003, that the first left-hander got to wear the Green Jacket - Canada's Mike Weir.

If Bubba Watson goes on to complete victory tonight, six of the last 12 champions will have been left-handed.

  2. Poulter fumes... againpublished at 22:58 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Ryder Cup god Ian Poulter, external on Twitter: "Beyond disgusted with my performance on the par 5's for the week. The simple facts on winning a green jacket is you have to play them well.

"I have to say Augusta National was very playable today. They actually softened the greens & slowed them down slightly. Disappointing finish."

  3. Watson -8, Spieth and Blixt -5published at 22:58 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Jordan Spieth runs it close with his putt on the 13th, trickling just past the left edge. Watson with the chance to hammer a nail in the opposition coffin. Birdie putt just wide of the drop. Both make the routine par returns, but time is running out for the rest to catch Bubba.

Jonas Blixt puts it all on the line as he attempts to shut the gap on Bubba Watson. Massive hooked iron round the trees, but it squirms out the back of the green and he will be in trouble trying to save par there.

  5. Watson -8, Spieth & Blixt -5published at 22:54 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Jordan Spieth lets the club slip through his grasp after hitting his second on 14. He looks disgusted with that. The length is perfect, but the line is wide. He will have a good 30 feet downhill to try and digest when he gets up on the green.

Bubba Watson has the wind in his sails. Another superb approach, helped by the extra distance on his drives, leaves him with ten feet.

  6. Get involvedpublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Jonnie Horden:, external Apparently the longest drive recorded was 515 yards - set by Mike Austin in 1974 ... using a wooden club. So much for titanium!

Down a hill, onto concrete and with a gale at his back though.

  7. Augusta course guidepublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

    Par four, 440 yards

The only bunkerless hole on the course, but danger comes in the shape of a contoured green. If the drive is well-placed, then a mid-iron approach may be all that is needed. However, the significant left-to-right drop of the putting surface can lead to three putts, even from close range.

  20. Postpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

    Iain Carter
    BBC golf correspondent

On Jordan Spieth: "At the start of 2013 he was outside the world's top 800, he's now 13th and he'll be comfortably into the top ten after this week and he's had four top tens already this year. This is someone of very tender years. We've talked about how excited we've been about Rory McIlroy and rightly so, he has two majors and is 24, but this guy is doing stuff which is almost akin to how Tiger Woods burst onto the scene. I still think Woods edges it but there is no doubt, Jordan Spieth is the future of American golf."
