"Bubba Watson waves to the crowd, nonchalant as you like. All of a sudden, he is -8 and leading the Masters."

...he's left it out! Aiming for the right of the hole, Spieth sends it all around the circumference and out the back. We have had a four-shot swing in two holes, Spieth was up by two, and now he has the same deficit. Bubba Watson is heading to the back nine of the Masters with daylight between himself and the rest.

...softly, softly, catchy monkey. Slow as you like, right to left. Patrons stand for a better look. Wait for it...in she goes! Birdie for Bubba. Eight under and a one-shot lead. Well, at least a one-shot lead. Spieth for par...

Spieth from off the green, sprinting the ball past the flag, then a stop-dead. Four-footer at lightning pace for par coming up. Before that, we'll have Bubba for birdie...

Augusta's four par fives are historically the four easiest holes around the par-72 layout and where the tournament is usually won or lost.

Rory McIlroy, for all his long-hitting prowess, was level par for the week on the 2nd, 8th, 13th and 15th. And he's still knocking around the top-10.

The twice major winner's favourite hole all week was the par-four 5th, which he played in -2, with his least favourite holes the par-three 4th and par-four 10th (both +3), the scene of his nightmare tee-shot in 2011 and slump.

Rory McIlroy is signing for a three-under 69 today, his Masters ends on level par. Rickie Fowler can't hole another monster at 10 and drops one, back to two under.

"In the last 10 minutes, there has been a big shift in momentum of the final group. Jordan Spieth is struggling. The change came the moment Spieth hit the horrid first putt on 8."

Oh Jordan Spieth, not enough beans with that approach to the ninth. Not past the slope, back down and rolling on to the fairway. Advantage Watson? It is now! Lovely second shot, just left of the pin to leave a 10-footer for birdie and the lead.

  9. Postpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Kuchar is in Fowler country, but his adventure up and down the slope does not have the same result. Back upwards, he does well to escape with only a five, but is now four behind the leaders on three under. Jonas Blixt, the only player in the field without a three-putt all week, is second outright on four under.

Bubba is right off the ninth tee, but in reasonable shape. Matt Kuchar up ahead on the same hole, chips his third well past and will have an impossible putt for par.

    Par four, 460 yards

Well known for the three-tiered green that slope from back to front. When the pin is near the front, the ball can often spin back on to the fairway. Players often favour tee shots down the right so as to avoid the two left greenside bunkers.

Want to know why Fred Couples is so popular? On the 10th tee, he lobbed his golf ball to a kid in the gallery. The kid's face was an absolute picture. Another lifelong fan secured.

By the way, did you know that at each green an official in a red Masters jacket provides patrons in the sitting area with information about the players that are approaching.

And on tables on a number of the tees are wooden boxes containing 1,385 (approx.) long white wooden tee pegs, a stash of Augusta logo white and green ball markers, short green pencils with "Augusta National Golf Club" inscribed in white, various coloured felt-tip pens and boxes of plasters.

  14. Watson birdie, ties lead on -7published at 21:33 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Bubba into the middle of the middle, birdie at eight. As they head for the front-nine closer, our leaders are level on seven under.

  15. Spieth bogey at eightpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

He's missed it! With Bubba likely to birdie, we're set to be level at the top...

  16. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Matt Kuchar is dwelling in the trees by the ninth fairway, having to skim out on to the fairway. Spieth first putt on the eighth is good enough to not fly past, but it's still a tester for par.

  17. Postpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Excellent wedge-work from Bubba, he'll have a tap-in for birdie to likely be only one off the pace. Only nine men are under par for the tournament.

  18. Postpublished at 21:28 British Summer Time 13 April 2014

Spieth's third to the par-five eighth, chipping on to the green but essentially from a different post code. Tough two-putt from 30 feet coming up. Replays of the Fowler putt on nine show just what a stonker it was. Started way right, bending, bending, and resulting in a massive roar for the man in orange.

Everywhere you go today there has been a buzz about Jordan Spieth. Everyone is saying he will become the youngest player to ever win the Masters. But people are also saying how nice a guy he is and how well he copes with the spotlight now on him. He has recently bought his first house and has a picture of Amen Corner up in there which his friends bought him. His Presidents Cup golf bag takes pride of place in his bedroom.

I've just been told that Jordan Spieth has only putted nine times in the first seven holes. If he was as hot with the driver, the Green Jacket would already be as good as his. Ian Poulter gets lucky to hold on to the water's edge at 13, but you wouldn't know it as he blasts the air with his club. A monster par putt at nine keeps Rickie Fowler in contention at three under.
