    It's McIlroy v Spieth

Evening, Fordyce here, it's been a while. If you were to sound a bugle at Augusta National, you would find yourself not only banned from the course for life but also the city and the state. Still - this final pairing are making their way to the first tee, and if that doesn't run a thrill down your spine, you're probably on the wrong live text.

Woosie is not the only man chomping at the bit ready to go. No, not Spieth or Rory...my colleague Tom Fordyce. Only two of these fellas haven't got a Green Jacket. One might give himself a chance over the next four hours...

Forgive me, you good Masters-worshipping folk. If you are watching on BBC Two, I should have told you that you'll have to wait until 20:00 BST to see live pictures from that sun-kissed golfing utopia that is Augusta. It's the host broadcaster's feed, not ours. But you can watch streams of the live action at Amen Corner, holes 15 and 16 and two featured groups via our live coverage tab.

    Hold tight.

Our penultimate pair are being called on to the first tee....from New Zealand.. Danny Lee! (cheers)

From the United States...Scott Piercy! (huge cheers).

And that means we are 12 minutes away from the Spieth/McIlroy showdown....

    Garcia (+2 after 1)

Are we ever going to see Sergio Garcia win a major? Not this week if he carries on today like he has just started. Sergio has a touch of the Ernies on the first, duffing a chip before three-putting from 12 feet. A double bogey. That's the equivalent of leaving the blocks in the Olympic 100m final about a second after Usain Bolt.

Attention! I have an important announcement. Our television coverage is under way on BBC Two. Hazel Irvine, Ken Brown and Peter Alliss. What more does a golf fan want? Grab the remote and flick over, or click the tab on this page. But don't you dare leave us either.

    Scott (+5 after 16)

Oh, stop it! Adam Scott is finally grooving, slinking onto the dancefloor in style on both 15 and 16, sidling up to pin. He moved in for the kill on 15, sinking a six-foot birdie putt, but misses out on the next. He slides past the can, missing the chance to go back level for the day.

John McEnerney: Seeing Langer close reminds me off the good old days when us Europeans dominated Augusta & the sound of the wooden woods on tee box

Mark Baglow: How many other 58 year olds could pull off Bernhard Langer's hairstyle? What a cool guy and an amazing golfer.

    Lowry (+1 after 1)

And Bryson DeChambeau isn't the only one in his group toiling on the first. Shane Lowry was well in the mixer after Thursday's opening round, but his chances were hampered by a 76 yesterday.

Now he's bogeyed the first - just like he did yesterday. Ominous. Three putting from 12 feet didn't help matters mind...

    DeChambeau (+1 after 1)

Well, Joel, your man DeChambeau has not made a promising start. Don't know what he's up to on the par-four first. The leading amateur pushes his second shot towards the trees - about 20 yards right of the green. Bogey for the silly-hatted American.

In the continuing arm wrestle between Golfers and Augusta, the world's best are starting to heave themselves back to the middle.

Bernhard Langer is one of six players now under par, with Brooks Koepka, JB Holmes and Smylie Kaufman (who, incidentally, must have the greatest name on Tour) joining him in tied eighth.

Louis Oosthuizen and Bill Haas are the other two beating the windswept course.

    Langer (level after 2)

Without going all Kevin Keegan on you, I'd love it - just love it - if the genial German managed to put some pressure on those young whippersnappers at the top of the pile.

Not least because I love the fact he still rocks out the 80s visor.

    Day (+1 after 2)

How would you describe Jason Day's week? Bet busting, probably. But there's still time for the world number one to win us all some brass.

A few more birdies would be a start. The Aussie reaches the green in two on the par-five second, just missing out on an eagle. But he taps in to wipe out that opening bogey.

Running a steady 9k, sticking a chicken casserole in the oven, watching a half of football...whatever you have got to do before the final pairing trot onto the first tee then you had better get moving.
