  1. Walker and Casey chasing parspublished at 19:53 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

Overnight leader Jimmy Walker is on the par-three fourth and pings a five-iron over the pond to 15 feet. He is five under after opening with three pars.

Back on the third and England's Paul Casey hits a nice chip over a bunker with his third and he has a short par putt to stay two under.

  2. Triple bogeypublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

Phil Mickelson for triple bogey and he gets it.

Small consolation for the American who drops to four over.

  3. Postpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

Rory McIlroy with a birdie chance from 15ft.

But he rolls it past the hole. Should be par but he needs to get in the red early doors to get in the mid-60s.

Defending champion Jason Day rolls it in for par to stay at two-under.

  4. Westwood in for parpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    -2 Westwood (2)

Lee Westwood is in good shape in the middle of the second fairway and flicks a wedge towards the pin. The ball lands half a dozen feet short and spins three times that distance away. An outside chance of another birdie.

The ball starts straight at the hole but drifts off to the left and keeps going. It's not a straightforward one for par, but in she drops and he stays two under

  5. Postpublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

Phil Mickelson looks like he has blasted his fourth shot into someones backyard, behind the green.

The ball tracker says the ball's resting place is "unknown" but he finds it near a fence and manages to chip out, just short of the green.

    Triple bogey on the cards.

  6. Postpublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

Rory McIlroy's first drive is 312 yards on the left of the fairway.

But he has to wait for Mickelson for his second.

"Phones away please" says Phil Mickelson's caddy.

The American's fourth shot is in the rough, next to a path to the right of the fairway, 193 yards to the hole.

But it looks ugly, he could be out of bonds here again.

  7. Phil hits the roadpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

You're on the first tee, your thought is just get it in the fairway, a nice steady start.

That is not what happened to Phil Mickelson.

The American hooks his drive left, way left, so left it is out of bounds and bouncing down the road.

    Time to reload Phil.

His second attempt goes the other way this time. Apparently there is a hazard down there.

    A truly terrible start.

  8. Westwood on the movepublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    -1 Westwood (1)

We've had a year of first-time major winners but I never thought I'd be writing in 2016 that Lee Westwood would still be searching for his first but he is and the Englishman is off to the perfect start in round two with a birdie on one to get to two under.

  9. Postpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    -5 Walker (1)

Jimmy Walker has started steadily with a par on the first.

He has an opportunity for an early birdie on the second, a nine footer, but it just doesn't have enough bend on it. Par for the American.

  10. Early birdie for Grillopublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    -5 Grillo (3)

Argentina's Emiliano Grillo holes an early birdie to get to five under par. He nudges in at the par-three 12th, his third hole. Players are firing at the pins knowing that the soggy greens are holding.

Louis Oosthuizen finishes with a birdie on the ninth to post a second-round 70 to stay two under par.

  11. Rory needs to roarpublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    +4 McIlroy

It wasn't a great day at the office for Rory McIlroy in round one.

The two-time champion carded a four-over-par 74 and poor putting let him down.

"Tee to green is not the problem, but when I get to the greens it's a different story," said the 27-year-old, who won in 2012 and 2014 and has recorded three other top-eight finishes in seven appearances in the US PGA Championship.

He is aiming to shoot in the mid-60s today, so a big shift is needed.

McIlroy tees off at 19:30 BST alongside Phil Mickelson and defending champion Jason Day.

  13. Stenson is clubhouse leaderpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    -6 Stenson +1 Willett +9 Johnson

Henrik Stenson finishes with a par to take the clubhouse lead on six-under.

Danny Willett has a habit of making birdies when he really needs them. He gets one on the final hole to finish on one-over and at the moment is within the projected cut.

  14. Dustin bites the dustpublished at 19:10

Dustin's in with a 72 for nine over - remarkable stuff from the pre-tournament favourite, a man some people thought would tear the course a new hole this week. As I write, there are only seven players below him on the leaderboard.

  15. Reed revved uppublished at 19:03

Reed made that birdie at the last and is in with a 65, he shares the clubhouse lead with Martin Kaymer on five under. Two consecutive 70s from Scotland's Russell Knox...

  16. Birdiepublished at 19:03 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    +2 Willett (17*)

Danny Willett gets a birdie on the eighth and my word he needed that. Back to two-over but he will need a birdie on the ninth to give himself the best chance of making the cut.

  17. Rose flirts with dangerpublished at 19:00

That's an absolute peach of an iron from Reed, who leaves himself with a two-footer for birdie at the ninth, his 18th. Former US Open champion Webb Simpson is three under through 16, fellow American Ryan Moore is two under through 15. The projected cut remains at +1, but we think that will move to +2. Justin Rose of England bogeys his last for a 72, he's two over. As is playing partner Charl Schwartzel...

  18. Stenson takes the leadpublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

    -6 Stenson (17*)

Henrik Stenson makes no mistake and putts down for a birdie and we have an outright leader.

  19. What a shot!published at 18:54 British Summer Time 29 July 2016

A fairway bunker is no trouble to Henrik Stenson in his current form.

He is 85 yards from the hole but stops his wedge shot dead next to the hole.

It leaves him with just a one foot putt for birdie.

  20. Matsuyama pitches inpublished at 18:51

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama, the world number 19, has just stuck it in from the fairway for an eagle at two. He's now three under overall. Overnight leader Jimmy Walker is on the first tee and he gets his drive safely away.
