    US win Ryder Cup

Leading golf coach on BBC Radio 5 live

It has been a long time coming and they really put their heart and soul into really preparing for this week. It was hard to come back from the 4-0 whitewash on Friday and it was close from there. If a couple of results had changed at the top of the board with Rory or Justin, who knows.

The crowd have done their task force work too. I think the players realise that. We’re looking at rivers and rivers of people across this Hazeltine course.

If we can keep the continuity going in France, well...maybe Europe has a trick up their sleeve?

Everybody said we needed change and we brought about change. This is a convincing victory for the Americans.

US vice-captain Bubba Watson is crying. But you probably knew that would happen, win, lose or draw. A big man hug with captain Davis Love, who is also shedding a tear or two.

I think Minnesota really helped this team. The weather, the crowd. I think Minnesota really got this one right.

    Moore beats Westwood 1Up

The moment is upon us, Lee Westwood makes bogey on the 18th. It comes down the Ryan Moore, the man who was picked last for this team.

We've all been there, last picked on the playground. Not too often does that poor soul get the glory.

He has two putts to win the hole. He has three putts to halve the hole and win the Ryder Cup. Moore sends his ball, it's not a hard putt, 15ft or so... it stops short. A tap-in left but Westwood concedes.

Ladies and gents, America have won the Ryder Cup.

We have seen drama, we have seen controversy, we have seen brilliance. It's over. The US end the wait.

    1UP D Johnson v Wood (16)

Chris Wood and Dustin Johnson both bring out the gun show on 16, a par five. They both clear the green. Wood chips first, not bad, he leaves 10ft.

Dustin Johnson chips, if this goes in he wins the Ryder Cup, now that would be a way to end. DJ plays it nice and safe, he has a short putt for birdie.

Wood goes first, solid putt, well done sir. That's gutsy. DJ, a man who has choked in the past...oh...he pushes it wide.

    Snedeker beats Sullivan 3&1

Sullivan misses the putt coming back and immediately the cap comes off and a hand is proffered, USA need just half a point to regain the Ryder Cup...

    2UP Snedeker v Sullivan

Sullivan to go first at 17, opting to chip from the collar. Presumably attempting to ram it into the base of the flag but it races by instead. Snedeker should make him pay...

On that performance Jason, Lancashire wouldn't want him. If you're just tuning in, the Masters champ lost 5&4 against Brooks Koepka.

    A/S Moore v Westwood (17)

Lee Westwood is in danger of ending on a low. Ryan Moore has not given in and birdie on 17 takes him and Westy up the last at level. We are getting close to the finale. Americans lining up to be the man of the moment, Europeans thinking 'please don't let it be against me'.

    2UP Snedeker v Sullivan (16)

Here's Snedeker on 17, working the ball right to left, and he's stiffed it to within a few feet of the pin. Sullivan's ball just clambers on and spins back into the fringe.
