I'm just scanning some stats and Rickie Fowler is the man to be on for putting at least. Just 1.46 putts per hole on average, the best in the tournament.

But if the tee takes your fancy, Sergio Garcia has hit 35 of 42 fairways, only Soren Kjeldsen (37) has more.

If you like greens in regulation, go Adam Scott - he's hit 41 of 45, only Justin Thomas (42) has hit more.

Perhaps that shows that no one golfing quality will get the job done for you, one must put a complete game together.

Rory McIlroy, who shot a 71 today and is six shots off the lead, speaking to BBC Sport: "I'm a little frustrated. I thought I gave myself plenty of chances on the back nine and didn't convert. It puts me a few shots behind. I need a fast start and to keep going.

Garcia has been banging on the door so loudly for so long, I don't think even the coldest heart could begrudge him. I, like Jay Townsend want someone to win it and think no one is deserving, but I'd have no qualms about shouting 'ole' tomorrow afternoon if he does it.

Clubhouse co-leader Sergio Garcia speaks to BBC Sport: "I stayed patient, waited for my time. I got a great break on 13 and managed to make birdie. It was nice to see that and put a solid round.

"When things are going well off the course everything on the course seems to line up a little bit easier. But I have to go out there tomorrow, believe in myself again, be patient and don't freak out if something goes wrong."

Seve would be 60 tomorrow, how much inspiration have you taken from him? "Hopefully he will help me a little bit. Help is always wanted and welcome. It will be nice if he helps a little bit from up there. Hopefully we can get it done and celebrate."

For the most part, if youy have a solid front nine on Sunday, you will have an opportunity on the back nine. Sometimes plodding along isn't a bad thing and let the other guys drop back.

I'm not someone who believes in deserving to win, but he's a guy you would like to see win. Sometimes he's been his own worst enemy but he's come to terms with that and I think he will be a force to be reckoned with.
