  1. Final group finish!published at 00:09 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Hoffman (-4 after 18) Garcia ( -6 after 18)

To the putts on 18, borderline crazy golf as they navigate the tier in the green.

Charley Hoffman does a decent job from range and will have four feet left to tidy.

Sergio Garcia, big swing, drifts right, leaves same distance as Hoffers.

Here goes the American, the green bathed in sun... in all the way. He bent his knees at the last minute to will it home. Sergio... lovely stroke.. fist clench.

Darn straight. Or some other Phil Mickelson term.

    Hoffman (-4 after 17) Garcia (-6 after 17)

Charley Hoffman's jaw is grimacing. He's seen his ball trickle back down the green, leaving him somewhere in North Carolina when he starts this putt. Sergio Garcia follows from the fairway... too much height, not enough fizz. He's also well short and back down the green from this flag on the upper tier.

  4. Fowler sets tone for tomorrowpublished at 00:01 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Pieters (-1), Fowler (-5)

Thomas Pieters' up and down round ends on a frustrating down as his long putt comes to a halt just an inch wide of the hole. He drops a shot to finish one under.

No problem for Fowler with what ends up being his final putt of the round, which he strokes right into the middle of the hole. Only for par but it is a big putt. He will start tomorrow five under and ominously close to the lead.

  5. C'est la Viepublished at 00:00 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Hoffman (-4 after 17) Garcia (-6 after 17)

Beautiful sounds from the contacts made by both Sergio Garcia and Charley Hoffman. Sweet, sweet music, like a B*Witched classic.

  7. Postpublished at 23:57 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Fowler (-5)

Fowler doesn't give his massive putt at the last enough and he settles six feet short of the hole. Still something in that if he wants to make par.

  8. Happy chappy...published at 23:55 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Hoffman (-4 after 17) Garcia (-6 after 17)

A happy chappy in the clubhouse on six under.

Neither Sergio Garcia nor Charley Hoffman can make birdie on 17, pars only, though both went close with putts.

  9. Postpublished at 23:55 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Fowler (-5)

Fowler's second shot to 18 takes a small kick from the right-front edge of the green. A bit of a miscue and it gives him a monster for a birdie. All about making sure he can get par now and ensure only one shot separates him and the lead.

  10. Ryder Cup Sunday at Augusta?published at 23:54 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Andrew Cotter
    BBC commentator at Augusta

There is a hint of the Ryder Cup about the leaderboard. with Rose and Garcia at the top and Fowler and Spieth underneath.

  11. Postpublished at 23:52 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Moore (-4)

Ryan Moore finishes with a par after missing his 18-footer by an inch or two. 54 holes down, four under, two off the lead, the American goes again tomorrow.

  12. Postpublished at 23:50 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Pieters (-2)

Thomas Pieters has not had it all his own way today. He birdies the 17th, though, to move back to two under and into the top 10. The Belgian Ryder Cup player in the mix.

  13. Straight down the middlepublished at 23:48 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Fowler (-5)

Fowler's drive at the last is good. Right up the middle.

The American looks calm and collected. Once Moore and McGirt finish their rounds off, he will be looking to play a second shot with a share of the clubhouse lead in mind.

  14. Scott wants 'crazy' Sundaypublished at 23:48 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Scott (-3 after 18)

2013 Masters champion Adam Scott was happy with the lack of wind today.

He told BBC Sport: "I hate to say it was easy compared to the first two days but it felt that way, not having to worry about the wind.

"I played solid and made a few birdies but i didn't finish it off the way I wanted. but hopefully i can sneak up on them tomorrow."

When asked if being a previous winner would help, he replied: "It counts for a little bit. I know I can do it when you've got to stand up and hit a shot.

"We've seen so many crazy things happen here on a Sunday, hopefully it will be crazy for me."

  15. Postpublished at 23:47 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Hoffman (-4) Garcia (-6)

    I love the crowd contribution.

"That's a rip Charley", says one man with authority as Hoffman slams one up 17.

    A rip indeed. I believe it's 307 yards to Sergio Garcia's 304.

  16. I know what can happen on a Sunday - Spiethpublished at 23:47 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Spieth (-4)

2015 champion Jordan Spieth, speaking to BBC Sport after his four-under-par 68:  "We wanted to shoot four under today and thought if we did the lead would move to six or seven and I'd creep on it.

"I thought the golf course would be difficult today but it was nice to get out to five under and hit our goal in the end.

"In order to win this tournament you have to play to win. At other places you can back off a bit and cruise, here if you have got a chance to go for it you have to pull off the shot.

"Those are the moments that people who win this tournament have when they play on the Sunday. Moments present themselves - it is about being patient.

"I know better than anyone what can happen on a Sunday."

Ryan Moore could yet make it to five under. He has 18ft left on the green for birdie at the last...

  18. Double bogeypublished at 23:42 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Hoffman (-4 after 16) Garcia (-6 after 16)

Sergio Garcia is just a few feet off the green but he's taken the hybrid out to bump this bad boy close...expertly done. That should save his par. Charley Hoffman meanwhile..

He's melted a little here. A five footer for double bogey remains. He puts his marker down, then sets the ball. Two practice strokes... has to go in... does go in. Double trouble bogey.

  19. Postpublished at 23:41 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Fowler (-5)

Fowler holes out from five feet. He stays five under.

  20. Postpublished at 23:40 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Fowler (-5)

Fowler with a monster putt from just off the green for birdie at 17. He leaves it short, uncomfortably short. Still some work to do to save par.
