Jason Day explains Dustin Johnson offered to race to the final tee to enable the group to beat the suspension of play horn and complete their rounds: "That's the biggest or most clutch thing I have ever seen anyone do for me," he says.

More from Jason Day: "My driving and putting was good today, the two things that haven't been working well. It just felt like the old days. It was only last year I was playing well but it feels like 10 years!"

Some thoughts from Jason Day after his 66 which leaves him in third place, two behind Kisner and Matsuyama.

"I was surprised after we came back from the delay to how receptive the course was, to hit the driver as far as you can knowing the ball is not going to bounce off. It's going to be hard work over the next two days with how Hideki and Kevin are playing but hopefully we will get some nice sunny weather."

We've got players running between shots now in an attempt to complete their rounds and avoid having to come back early in the morning. Why can't we always have this? I don't suppose Beef would be in favour of it though. A reminder that the colourful Englishman withdrew after the first round with a shoulder injury.
