    Rose +5 (9)

Justin Rose started at the 10th today and on that nine yesterday five shots went in six holes. Today he has played it in level par, with two birdies and two bogeys, so remains at five over for the Championship.

    McIlroy E (9)

What's gone on there? McIlroy has hit another perfect drive on the first but with a short iron in hand he's dropped short and left of the flag. He slumps over his club as he realises his landed in the green-side bunker. Not good.

Rickie Fowler also has work to do after driving towards the trees and being left with no choice but to run the ball up the fairway short of the green.

A decent bunker shot from Rory but he'll still have a tester for par.

  4. Scoring easier on day twopublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

    Kisner -6, Olesen -4, Fowler -3

For the most part players found scoring difficult on day one but there are birdies dropping all over North Carolina today. The US' Jason Dufner has picked up four shots in nine holes to move to -4 while fellow American has four birdies from five.

However things are not going as well for Phil Mickelson. 27 holes played now so far in the tournament and he's still yet to birdie. There are three bogeys on his card so far today too. The leftie is now at +11. Eeeeek.

    Fowler -3 (8)

And quickly onto the par three 17th for the McIlroy, Fowler, Rahm group - their eighth hole of the day.

McIlroy can only make par but American Rickie Fowler holes a 10 footer for his second birdie of the day. He's now just three off the lead held by compatriot Kevin Kisner who has just made par on 16 having also started on the back nine.

Rory is smoking the driver out there (see the video below). After that birdie on 15 he set up a chance for another with a great drive and approach shot but then missed a make-able putt. Still, a solid start to North Carolina's fearsome 16, 17, 18 named the Green Mile.

  9. Smith moving up the leaderboardpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

    Smith -3 (5)

What a morning England's Jordan Smith is having!

He finished at one-under last night and the 24-year-old has made birdies at 10 and 13 to move to three-under already today. That's a tie for fourth!

He may not be widely known outside of golfing circles but could this weekend propel him into the spotlight? He's the leading Briton as things stand.

    Kisner -6 (6)

McIlroy may have picked up a shot already but he's no closer to the overall lead.

That's because Kevin Kisner, one of our two overnight leaders, has made an excellent start. The American has hit three birdies and a bogey on his opening six holes to pick up two shots and move two clear.

Compatriot D.A. Points started the round among a group of players at -3 and in a tie for second but he has also picked up a shot to move to four-under.

Are we going to see better scoring on this North Carolina morning?

"I have got a chance tomorrow morning to get the shots back."

Those were the words of Rory McIlroy late last night after his one-over-par round and he's already got one shot back this morning.

The Northern Irishman - playing alongside Rickie Fowler and Jon Rahm - teed off a couple of hours ago and has got himself to level par.

He's starting on the back nine and despite a scrappy start which included a scramble from behind some green bushes and a visit into the sandy stuff, McIlroy holed a lengthy putt on 15 to make birdie.

    Hello there!

Welcome along to our coverage of day two of the US PGA Championships from Quail Hollow.

Yesterday the United States' Kevin Kisner and Thorbjorn Olesen of Denmark set the pace with four-under-par rounds while pre-tournament favourites Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth both finished five shots back.

As you can see in the clips below the action is already under way in North Carolina with Mr McIlroy out on the course.
