23:59 BST 11 August 2017Matsuyama -7 (15)
Scruffy from the so far irresistible Matsuyama. The Japanese player finds himself on a cart track wide of the 16th. Almost. He gets good connection despite the difficult lie and lofts the ball towards the hole but it spins back and drops into the bunker.
A difficult up and down coming up from there.

Anguish for Garcia as his 27-foot birdie chance drifts past the cup and he remains at eight over. Excitable reactions from the spectators around the green, a few of them may well have spent that hour and 43 minute delay sampling the amber nectar. Spieth makes par to stay at plus two.

23:55 BST 11 August 2017Lowry -2 (16)
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. This is why the Green Mile has been bigged up as one of the hardest closing stretches in golf.
Irishman Shane Lowry leaves his tee shot on the par three 17th short and that means he has a tricky chip with water behind the flag.
You know what's coming. Lowry doesn't get enough bite on his delicate chip and the ball skips on and into the drink.
He's now left with a fourth shot from back over the other side of the lake.

23:46 BST 11 August 2017-2 Koepka; +2 Spieth; +8 Garcia
A delightful birdie for Open champion Spieth, his first of the day. His pitch makes a huge indentation in the green and he judges a sloping seven foot putt to perfection. Back to two over now. But it's surely all over for Sergio, he misses from five feet and drops to eight over.

That break came at the worst possible time for Hideki Matsuyama who had knocked in three birdies in a row before the hooter.
How will he respond? At first things look a little shaky as he hits his second towards the trees on the par five 15th but what a recovery! The Japanese world number three chips to within a couple of feet from off the green.
Can he make this birdie putt? You bet he can! That's four in a row either side of the rain.
He's one off the leader Kevin Kisner...

A momentum killer. Day's wedge gets tangled in the rough and he duffs the chip. He cannot hole from eight feet and he drops back to four under.

Day will be cursing that storm. His drive at the 11th after the resumption ended in the pine straw and from there he has flown through the green. But maybe he will chip it in.

Garcia begins with a terrible chip and another shot goes for Sergio. He is back to seven over and in serious danger of missing out for the weekend. Pars for his playing partners.

23:14 BST 11 August 2017Irishman Shane Lowry has come up on the rails. The thickset world number 83 has birdied four of his last six holes and is two under for the Championship. Let's see how he can finish. Conditions are set fair again now, evening sunshine and no wind. Extraordinary. The spectators, many of whom are in shorts, are filing their way back into their chosen spots.
