    Olesen -2 (6)

And Thorbjorn Olesen has indeed taken bogey on the 15th, his sixth hole of the round. His bogey putt runs just by but the Dane knocks home from a couple of feet for his seven. That sees him slip from second down into a seven-way tie for sixth.

  2. Westwood chips inpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

    +2 Westwood (6)

Lee Westwood came up well short of the green at the 243-yard par three sixth. The solution? chip it in for a birdie. That takes the former world number one to two over for the Championship.

    Olesen -4 (5)

Thorbjorn Olesen, who was the co-leader overnight remember, is having a shocker on the 15th. His fifth shot from the greenside bunker on the par five runs away from the hole and a double bogey is no certainty, never mind a bogey.

Kevin Kisner must be watching on from his hotel room in glee. His lead could get bigger in a mo.

World number one Johnson has dropped three shots today and there is no birdie for him at the seventh, the five foot effort not even touching the hole, a golfing version of a leg side wide. He stays at two over.

Spieth is definitely struggling. He has not clicked into gear. He is hanging on.

  7. What a shot!published at 20:44 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

Fantastic shot from Day from the middle of the fairway, his iron shot stops inches from the hole and that should be a certain eagle for the former world number one, the 2015 champion, that will put him up to two under.

DJ is not in the groove yet but he gets a break at the par five seventh, his ball stopping inches from the water on the right. He plays out just short of the green. The world number one is two over.

    Thomas -1 (8)

Justin Thomas is rolling along nicely, at three under for the day.

The American holed a huge putt on the par three sixth for a birdie.

    -2 Koepka; +2 Spieth

A safe two-putt from fully 45 feet for Koepka and the first birdie of the day in the feature group gets him back to two under, with Spieth remaining at plus two.

Another one gone for DJ, the world number one is now two over after six. Ahead at the seventh, Sergio puts his second shot in the drink but gets the old mallet blade working and holes from 15 feet for par to stay at six over. Still much to do to stay afloat for the weekend.

    -3 Matsuyama, Oosthuizen

Strong starts from Hideki Matsuyama and Louis Oosthuizen today, they are both two under for their rounds and are also three under for the Championship, in that group sharing third place, five behind clubhouse leader Kisner.

  13. Woodland stays on trackpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

    Woodland -3 (6)

American Gary Woodland is among a group on three under and has been producing some very smart shots.

Shades of Phil Mickelson at Augusta there as Koepka plays out of the pine straw under a big tree and on to the putting surface. It has rolled to the back of the green but he will have an eagle chance.

  15. Johnson slips backpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

    level Day; +1 Johnson (5)

The fifth hole is only 454 yards and a veritable pitch and putt par four for these fellows but world number one Dustin Johnson has dropped a shot to slip to one over. Day pars the hole to stay one over for the day and level for the Championship.

    Garcia +6 (6)

Sergio wears some strange clothes. He favours bright yellows and greens but today he is all in dreary grey. His golf is lacking something too at the moment and that red mallet putter as used by Jon Rahm is a bit on the lukewarm side. A birdie chance slips by on the right and he stays at six over, two more than the projected cut.

It's extremely sticky-hot and humid out on the course. Light showers on and off with a weather warning in place but the humidity is suffocating.

The players have been taking bottles of water on the tee boxes and holding them up to their foreheads to cool off.

  20. Smith at three overpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 11 August 2017

From one Jordan to another and Wiltshire golfer Jordan Smith. He impressed yesterday with a 70 and got to three under today after two birdies in his first four holes, having started at the 10th. There were four bogeys on his back nine for a round of 75 but he's safely in for the weekend at plus three.
