Marc Leishman deservedly receives a standing ovation from the crowd gathered behind the 18th green after tapping in that par putt. That's a clubhouse-best 67 from the Australian today.

Tommy Fleetwood might not be able to tame his hair, but he's starting to tame Augusta. England's world number 12 makes the Masters cut for the first time with a solid 72.

Marc Leishman looks on course to join Patrick Reed in tomorrow's final pairing... as long as he manages to land this bunker shot somewhere near. Splendid stuff. That should see him home.

Tiger Woods has a sniff of a birdie... this to put him under par on the back nine... groans for the patrons who were willing that to drop. After a sticky start, Woods finishes with a 75 and will be back tomorrow.

Three holes for Patrick Reed to see out and take a commanding lead into day three. He's safely on the 16th green, playing pal Charley Hoffman falling short on the right.

Wonder if Marc Leishman heard the cheer greeting Patrick Reed's birdie from over yonder? The Aussie needs to focus on the task in front of him, namely a low punch under the trees on 18. The trajectory is right, not the direction, and he ends up in the bunker on the left of the green.

Good hands for a big man... Patrick Reed shows us gentle side with a neat dink onto the 15th green, guiding the ball to about six feet past the hole. tweet, tweet. A birdie chance....

In front of the American on the course, but behind him on the leaderboard, Henrik Stenson and Justin Thomas hang on to his coat-tails with testy par putts.

Marc Leishman nails a 12-foot par putt on the 17th... onto the 18th. "Nothing daft Marc, nothing daft," is what he might be saying to himself in his mind.

He's swiped across it a little, ball arcing our left to right on the ball tracker... it's tight to the line of trees on the right. Crash! Leishman hits the branches but, rather fortuitously, sees his ball appear and drop into the first cut of rough.

    P Reed -9, C Hoffman -3, A Hadwin -2 (14)

What's Patrick Reed up to? He's tearing out chunks of the Augusta grass on the 15th fairway and throwing it up into the breeze to see how strong it is.

His 329-yard drive leaves him with a short iron into the green. It lands in the heart of the green, skipping through the back.

    H Stenson -4 (15)

Henrik Stenson has an 86-foot putt for eagle on the 15th. If he holes this then I'd give him a Green Jacket myself. He doesn't, nor does he make the birdie putt. A par will have to do for the 2016 Open champion, who remains five adrift of Patrick Reed.

    J Thomas -3 (16)

Similar to Spieth and McIlroy earlier, Justin Thomas is pin high on the 16th green but left with a tricky 30-odd foot putt uphill. He gives it a good go, leaving him a tap in for par.

    P Casey +5 (18)

Actually Paul Casey should be fine. It looks like he will be the last man through the gate and on the weekend flight. Just as well - he's missed that birdie putt on the last. He's tied 46th at the moment and with the top 50 and tied going through then he's not in danger. Everyone behind him, barring Sergio Garcia and Doc Redman - who can't catch him, is back in the clubhouse.

    J Thomas -3 (15)

Justin Thomas has hauled himself into the top 10 with another birdie on 15. That's the world number two's third on the bounce.

Meanwhile, in the group behind, Bubba Watson is in the drink with his second shot.

    P Casey +5 (17)

Paul Casey looks like he's on holiday out on Augusta, with his baseball cap and sunglasses combo. If he doesn't want it cut short and have to go home tomorrow then he needs a birdie on the last. He's got more than a chance... the Englishman, teetering on the brink of the cut line, has knocked his approach to seven feet.

    T Woods +4, M Leishman -7, T Fleetwood E (16)

The birdie chances keep a comin' for Marc Leishman. This one on 16 doesn't drop so he stays two adrift of Patrick Reed.

Playing pal Tiger Woods misses from six feet on the right side, that's back to four over and within one of the projected cut.

Back behind them on 15, Sergio Garcia races a chip past the pin...woah! It holds up and doesn't leave the defending champ with more water-based woe on the hole that did him up like a kipper yesterday.

(Is the Masters fun to play?) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is fun but as we saw yesterday there is tragedy at every hole. It's magnified more at this tournament than at any other.

  17. Birdie for Reedpublished at 23:26 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    P Reed -9, C Hoffman -3, A Hadwin -2 (14)

Back to Patrick Reed... never in doubt. Straight down the centre of the can. That's his 13th birdie this week and he's now two shots clear.

  18. Leishman sets up birdie chancepublished at 23:22 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    Leishman -7 (15)

Marc Leishman is fighting hard to stay in touch with Patrick Reed. His tee shot to the tough 16th pin, back right on a tiny plateau, comes to a stop a dozen feet from the hole.

Tiger Woods goes straight over the pin, by about 20 feet and he'll have a tricky one from the first cut.

    Reed -8 (13)

Patrick Reed follows an excellent drive on 14 with a superb wedge to three feet. He is in danger of opening up a substantial lead this evening.

A quick nip back to 15 to watch Sergio Garcia. The defending champion, much to his, and everyone else's delight, clears the water. There will be no 13 today.

    Singh +1 (18)

Former world number one Vijay Singh will be here for the weekend after finishing one over for 36 holes. The 55-year-old Fijian, champion in 2000, was three under for the tournament after 11 but dropped four shots in his final seven holes for a round of 74.
