    H Stenson -4 (11)

Henrik Stenson on the 12th... wind picking up just as he addresses the ball. Talk about bad timing. The Swede has waited too late... the gust helps carry his ball over the green. Luckily it hits a bank and kicks right into the bunker. I say lucky because he could have been among the azaleas....

    Casey +6 (13)

Four shots gone in five holes for Paul Casey, who won on the PGA Tour last month. The world number 13 is six over for the tournament and that could be one too many to make it for the weekend as it currently stands.

  3. Bogey for Reedpublished at 22:21 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    P Reed -7, C Hoffman -5, A Hadwin -3 (10)

Ooooh! More drama back on the 10th. Patrick Reed's putter has been as precise as the compass in your school geometry set this week... but it's let him down here. He pushes his seven footer past the pin and is back within two.

    B Watson -2 (10)

Classic Bubba. Daring, unorthodox and, quite frankly, incredible. The two-time champion is in the pines on the right of the 11th, wrapping his wrists around a low hook that ends up about 15 feet from the pin.

Wrists, hips and knees were all dancing there. He's the rubber man of golf.

  5. Rose 'in good shape'published at 22:17 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    Rose -2 (18)

Justin Rose mixed six birdies with four bogeys in a two-under 70 and two-under total to put himself firmly in contention.

The Englishman said: "It was tricky out there. I saw some better signs with the putter. There were one or two careless three-putts but for the most part I holed some nice sliders.

"I'm in a good spot going into the weekend."

    Stenson -4 (11)

Henrik Stenson chips in from just off the 11th green to get back that shot he dropped at the previous hole. The dark-shaded Swede, former Open champion, is back to four under and only three off the pace.

    P Reed -8, C Hoffman -5, A Hadwin -3 (9)

Like playing partner Reed, Charley Hoffman puts himself within spitting distance of a par. The American can't see where is heading as his ball is way below the green on the left, but ends up in a prime spot.

    T Woods +5, M Leishman -5, T Fleetwood +1 (11)

Could have been much worse. Tiger escapes with a bogey on 12 as expected, moving him to five under. Right on the cut line.

Tommy Fleetwood shouldn't have to worry about not returning this weekend, another par keeps him ticking along with the efficiency of an expensive Swiss watch.

Splendid recovery from Tiger Woods. Looks like he's going to escape with a bogey again on 12.

Leishman for birdie.... slightly downhill, right to left, he sidles it up for a tap-in. Percentage golf right there.

Meanwhile back on 10... Reed splashes out of the bunker to within a few feet.

Patrick Reed pushes his second shot on the 10th into the bunker on the right side of the green. Augusta might be reeling him back in here...

Yesterday it heated up in the afternoon and it's happening again with Patrick Reed, maybe something spurred him, he's that kind of guy who gets fired up.

  12. Postpublished at 22:04 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    T Woods +4, M Leishman -5, T Fleetwood +1 (11)

No such problems for Tommy Fleetwood - he ain't swimming. Fleetwood is on the dancefloor.

    T Woods +4, M Leishman -5, T Fleetwood +1 (11)

Marc Leishman, sleeves flapping in the gusty wind, has the honour. Pin is a touch further back today, opening up the green a touch. Leishman lands safely.

Next up... Tiger. Uh oh - sounds heavy. Tiger's head instantly drops, he threatens to throw his club where his ball looks to be ending up... the water.

Dunk! Almost in identical fashion to yesterday, Woods's shot hits the front bank and dribbles back into the drink.

  14. The key holes - 12thpublished at 22:00 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    Golden Bell

Surely this one needs little introduction? Augusta National's shortest hole is arguably THE most famous golf hole.

The par-three 12th is one of the most cherished holes in golf. Unpredictable winds, Rae's Creek, a shallow green... players stride across the iconic Hogan Bridge hoping to have avoided serious damage on Augusta's shortest hole.

    Just ask Jordan Spieth...

  15. Postpublished at 21:59 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    T Woods +4, M Leishman -5, T Fleetwood +1 (11)

Leishman from the front of the green on 11, swings it in from right to left, lacks power. An annoyed Leishman wafts his right hand through the air, indicating to his ball where it should have gone.

Tiger Woods sticks in his birdie putt after that incredible second shot. He's hanging on...

Back to Leishman... no mistake. Pars all around with Fleetwood completing a full set.

On they go to Golden Bell. Gulp.

  16. Birdie for Reedpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    P Reed -8 (9)

Man's hot. Patrick Reed stretches his lead to three with a confident 14-foot putt on the ninth. The American, who had never shot under 70 at Augusta until this week, goes out in 31.

Reed's five under for the day, eight under overall and three shots clear of Marc Leishman and Charley Hoffman.

    T Woods +4, M Leishman -5, T Fleetwood +1 (10)

Sensational stuff for Tiger Woods. With 205 yards to go, he punches an iron low under the trees and ends up about five feet away. Not to be outdone, Marc Leishman floats his approach just short of the pin. Another birdie chance?

Meanwhile there's another roar from just behind them...

  18. Bogey for Johnsonpublished at 21:49 British Summer Time 6 April 2018

    Z Johnson -1 (11)

Zach Johnson is in a spot of bother up at 11. He flirted with the trees flanking the fairway, sold his second short and was then faced with a 27-foot putt to save par.

The American fails to make it, and walks away with a bogey.

Everyone knows how dangerous 11 is, but it's playing as hard as I've ever seen it.

If Marc Leishman's round is going to be blobbed then the chances are that it'll be here. The 505-yard par four is the hardest hole on the course today, with players averaging 4.6111 on there. Just the two birdies there, along with 11 double bogeys...
