    J Spieth -5, X Schauffele -6 (17)

Xander Schauffele's face is almost as pink as his shirt now. For the first time at a major, the attention is almost solely on him.

He tickles it cup-wards from around 10 feet, but it stops narrowly short.

    That's a bogey. Francesco Molinari has a two-shot lead...

Xander Schauffele finds his ball, it's sitting on a patch of down-trodden rough where the spectators have been all week. The American struts over to the flag to plot his route.

All eyes on the Californian now.

He sizes it up, walks away and takes a deep breath, before going through another round of practice swings.

He's pacing around still, and it brings a chuckle from those watching. How are your nerves, Xander Schauffele?

A casual little clip, on to the green, not bad at all from there...

    Remarkable.

This is what awaits the Americans...

The Barry Burn is in front of the tee and then twists back, coming in from the left and cutting the fairway in half. A long approach also has to carry bunkers short of the green.

The last time I remember Tiger and Molinari being on the same final green together was at Medinah in 2012 - and that ended in a famous European victory. As they shake hands again on 18 today, what are the odds now on another? The cheers would suggest so!!!

Molinari might just have done enough to become the first major champion from Italy.

  17. Birdie for Molinari - takes outright leadpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    F Molinari -8 (18)

    What. A. Round.

Rock solid from Francesco Molinari. He turns and punches the air. The birdie takes him to eight under par and within touching distance of his first major title.

There are only four players left who can take it from him.

  18. Par for Woodspublished at 18:31 British Summer Time 22 July 2018

    T Woods -5 (18)

Tiger takes his time. He knows now that even a birdie will not be enough with his playing partner even closer for his three.

    The crowd fall silent.

Woods misses it. Groans from the crowd.

For so long it looked like Tiger's time again but it's not to be. Regardless, it's great to have him back.

Nice touch from Tiger Woods. He is closer but is going to clear the stage for Francesco Molinari.

Tiger knows the game is up and heads off to the bridge to the left of the green, allowing Molinari to take the applause of the crowd on his own as he crosses Barry Burn by the more traditional route over the bridge on the right.
