    D Johnson -6 (16)

World number one Dustin Johnson is running out of holes to earn himself a bit more dough this week. A birdie putt on the 16th, after a splendid 250-yard tee shot, meanders past the hole and leaves him well down the leaderboard.

  2. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    T Woods -9 (7)

Tiger making things difficult for himself of late. He's in the rough again at the par-five eighth. Takes a wood from 260 yards out, and steams it up short of the green.

  3. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    J Day -9 (8)

Another hole, another birdie chance for Jason Day. The Australian is hitting the ball as sweet as a nut.

Can he convert this chance from 15 feet? This would move him alongside Thomas... the ball slips down the left side.

Day stays in that gang on nine under.

  4. Koepka saves parpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    B Koepka -11 (6)

Pressure putt for Brooks Koepka after over-hitting that birdie chance. Cool as a week in Reykjavik. Down it goes. And he holds the outright lead.

  5. Bogey for Thomaspublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    J Thomas -10 (9)

Now Justin Thomas has a chance to take the outright lead from eight feet or so.

Nope, he can't convert... and it gets worse for the defending champion! What looked like a simple par putt lips out and Thomas drops out of the lead.

  6. Postpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    Roll up, roll up...

A not-so-orderly queue is forming behind Thomas and Koepka, waiting for them to slip up... 15 (fifteen) players are either nine or eight under...

    B Koepka -11 (5)

Now can Brooks Koepka bring this bogey run to a halt? The two-time US Open champ has seen his lead wiped out early on the final day at Bellerive.

He's stuck his tee shot at the par-three sixth on to the fringes, and sizzled the birdie putt way beyond the pin...

  8. Postpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    T Woods -9 (7)

Little runner from Tiger Woods from the fringes, scuttling along and putting the brakes on several feet from the pin. He proceeds to tap in to scramble back for par after that bogey a hole earlier.

  9. Postpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    R Cabrera Bello -8, T Hatton -8 (18)

Not quite the perfect endings for Rafa Cabrera Bello and Tyrrell Hatton, but they will be more than happy with their day's work.

Twelves birdies, not a single bogey, as they card a pair of 64s. Doubt they'll be enough to take the jackpot but they should be in the mix for a decent prize.

The other prize being eyed up by Rafa is a Ryder Cup place. Mr Bjorn has some food for thought...

    J Thomas -11 (8)

Six players now queuing up at nine under par, two shots off the lead. Another nine one further back.

They're all vying for the top spot, currently shared by Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas.

The latter finds the fairway at nine. Steadies himself, and then eases an approach to within eight feet of the flag as it lands just inside the fringes and couples up towards the cup.

    T Woods -9 (6)

Now Tiger's given himself some work on the seventh. Woods sprays his tee shot right, finding a patch of rough, and then leaves his approach short of the good stuff.

    J Day -9 (8)

Jason Day for a birdie on the eighth... this to burn away from the pack and into outright third behind the co-leaders.

Looking good... still looking good...oh! It clips the left lip, swings right around the hole and stays above the putting surface.

The Aussie can't believe that didn't drop.

  13. Thomas tied for the leadpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    B Koepka -11 (5)

Now then, Justin Thomas might have missed that birdie putt, but he does take a share of the lead as Brooks Koepka drops another shot with his second successive bogey...

The nerves are just starting to show for the two-time major champion, who wobbles a par putt wide from eight feet at the fifth.

    Game on...

  14. Bogey for Fowlerpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    R Fowler -8 (5)

Not often you see Rickie Fowler's putter letting him down. This isn't the best time for it to conk out.

The world number nine almost needs binoculars to see the hole as he sizes up a monster birdie putt on the fifth... he's not hit it.

Another 15-foot putt leaves him scrambling to save par... he pushed it left. The American drops down the leaderboard.

  15. Postpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    J Thomas -11 (8)

Justin Thomas has given himself a shot at tying the lead, he'll have to drown out from a long range to do so... the American starts his birdie putt on its way, it looks good, but doesn't have the legs.

  16. Live on 5 in er...5(ish)published at 20:51 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

If you're trying to tune in for the radio coverage from Iain Carter and co at Bellerive, they are there and waiting but the European Athletics Championships in Berlin have overrun.

The golf coverage will kick in as soon as they finish in Germany - just the men's 4x100m relay to go...

  17. Postpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    M Wallace -6 (18)

Matt Wallace had never made the cut at a major until this week - and what a memorable weekend he has had.

After an ace on the 16th yesterday, the 28-year-old Englishman has just bagged another eagle on the 11th after driving the green.

Now wonder he's got a smile broader than the Thames.

  18. Bogey for Woodspublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    T Woods -9 (6)

...and he's going to drop back to nine under.

Tiger Woods can't convert from the fringes and instead has to tickle in for bogey.

  19. Woods in troublepublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    T Woods -10 (5)

Another little visit to the sand for Woods. The bunkers are as white as Bahamian beaches at Bellerive, but that's no consolation for Tiger as he gets too much on his chip and watches it scurry away beyond the flag and over to the other side of the green.

It digs in on the fringes, any more on that and it could've ended up in the creek...

  20. Birdie for Cabrera Bellopublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 12 August 2018

    Cabrera Bello -9 (17)

Anything Tyrrell can do... Rafa Cabrera Bello is keeping the Englishman company on the course today and matches his birdie on the 17th to move up alongside him on nine under. Another birdie for either on the last will see them equal the lowest-ever round at the PGA.
