Jon Rahm's just been a touch careless on the second hole. First he finds the bunker to the right of the dance floor and then hits a sloppy sand wedge.

That leaves him with a long putt for birdie so it's a second par of the day. Tommy Fleetwood also takes par on the 532-yard par five.

How easy do these boys make it look?

Rory McIlroy grabs an eight iron out of his bag and finds the centre of the green on the third.

A club player would be taking a six or seven iron there just to make sure. He follows that up with a couple of putts to make par. Nothing spectacular but there's plenty of golf left in this yet.

Jason Day finds the beach down the left but plays a glorious bunker shot to help him make par. As you were.

  4. Woods finishes with a 69published at 17:59 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2019

Tiger Woods' Players Championship is over. He was never in the mix for a victory and a final-round 69 means he finishes on six under.

Rory McIlroy has had five par-three birdies this week and leads the field in scoring on the short holes, could that be significant when they come to the island green 17th? Yesterday was the seventh time in 11 PGA Tour rounds he has finished in the top two on the leaderboard.

Since the beginning of 2016 on the US circuit, McIlroy's finishes when first or second heading into the final round have been: T3, T5, T6, 5th, T7, T4, 2nd, T-6. He was also second at last year's Dubai Desert Classic on the European Tour.

Jason Day started by dropping a shot but that's a perfect response at the second as he sinks a 12-foot putt.

Not so good for Rory McIlroy though who lips out from just over six feet. Only a par on the par five. Next up is the medium-length par three, third, where he picked up a stroke on Saturday.

    J Rahm -14, T Fleetwood -13

Jon Rahm is on the green but had got a helluva putt over 40 feet for a birdie.

He left it well short and just slipped past with his second putt. That's a bogey start and a two-way tie for the lead.

Fleetwood is up next and follows suit. Still, he's one shot better off than the six he took on Saturday!

  8. Greg Norman's record in sight?published at 17:46 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2019

American Webb Simpson won here last year with a score of 18 under par - the lowest score here since Fred Couples won in 1996 (also with 18 under).

The lowest winning score here though was back in 1994 when the Great White Shark, Greg Norman, shot an incredible 24 under par.

But the way Saturday went, that score could be under threat - especially if Jon Rahm is in the same sparkling form. What's nine strokes, eh?

Solid start from Rory McIlroy. A two-putt on the first gives him a par. Already an improvement on Saturday's bogey.

Australia's Jason Day drops a shot though. Far from ideal for him.

No mixed messages from the leader Jon Rahm. He's pretty clear about what he needs to do over the next four hours or so.

The leader Jon Rahm is under way. He took a wood on the first and clattered it down the left of the fairway.

He looks in pretty good shape to me.

Tommy Fleetwood is up next and smashes his ball straight down the middle of the fairway. Now he just needs to make sure that near-perfect shot isn't spoiled by carelessness like Saturday where he ended up with a double bogey.

I've settled down for this with a bag of mint humbugs, some biscuits and the odd cup of coffee. Then later I might even throw some pizza into the mix - you can tell I'm in for the long haul!

It's not quite popcorn at the cinema but what about you? What provisions do you have at the ready to keep you going over hours of sporting entertainment?

Current leader Jon Rahm is making his way to the first tee after a little bit of last-minute prep out on the range, where he has been dollying seven iron shots well over 150 yards.

  14. 'It's just a matter of committing'published at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2019

Rory McIlroy, speaking to Sky Sports before his final round:

"I think with the rain earlier today the course will be a tad softer. It's just a matter of committing to the shot off the tee.

"I had a timing issue on the tee (on Saturday). I was missing a few to the right so I just need to wait on it and get that rhythm.

"It's a good thing the conditions are like this, it means you can concentrate on that rather than the leaderboard. It takes your mind away from the result and on to the process and just finding the fairway and the greens."

  15. McIlroy up and runningpublished at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2019

    R McIlroy -14, J Day -12

Rory McIlroy is up and running with his playing partner Jason Day.

And he's in good shape down the left-hand side of the fairway, leaving a decent approach angle into the pin on the first.

  16. Dustin makes a movepublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2019

World number one Dustin Johnson has made an early move, birdieing the opening two holes to go 12 under, just three off Jon Rahm's lead.

It's cold and damp in Florida and with the course softened, we expect plenty of low scores today.

Tommy Fleetwood played the last 11 holes in yesterday's third round in five under par. This is his first appearance in the final pairing on the PGA Tour and his past seven rounds at Sawgrass have been under par. He leads the strokes gained off the tee category this week. Fleetwood would become the third player after Craig Perks and Tim Clark to make the Players his first win on the PGA Tour.
