  1. Leader goes close...published at 16:44 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Poulter -4 (6), DeChambeau -7 (4)

Brooks Koepka in some trouble so what can Bryson DeChambeau do on the par-three fourth? Good line but a tad short, leaving himself a putt longer than your average bus for birdie.

Ian Poulter is about to tap in for par on six, keeping him hunting like a hungry lion.

Back to DeChambeau... maybe 30ft for eight under... hangs up. Par. Outright leader though.

    Koepka -7 (1)

Koepka's scuplted left arm is outstretched on the second tee - he's bellowing at the crowd on the left to duck for cover.

His ball ends up on the bark in the trees, but then he clatters into the trees and doesn't know where his ball has ended up. A one-shot penalty awaits and then he knocks on to the safety of the fairway for four...

The leaderboard has more big names than the latest Expendables film. Difference is the golfers are well in their prime, unlike Messrs Stallone, Gibson, Lundgren et al.

Talking of beefcakes, co-leader Brooks Koepka is in trouble on the second...

  6. Currently dry but thunder expected laterpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    BBC Sport at Augusta National

The weather forecast has shifted slightly. The rain has stopped and is now not expected to return until around 4-5pm this afternoon, with thunderstorm graphics.

It's hardly brilliant sunshine out there but it's heating up and is expected to reach a high of around 85C later on. But it's incredibly humid out there.

  10. Patrons out for Poulterpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

It was handshakes all round on the first tee as Ian Poulter began his second round in dry conditions. Plenty of support for the Englishman but it has been slow going.

There's a wait on the first while Matt Kuchar sought a ruling about an electrical cable running down a tree inches from where his ball came to lie. No free drop and he eventually flicks a seven-iron into more trouble.

There's another long wait on the second tee while the group in front move out of range and then more hanging around before the shots into the green.

The vista from the brow of the hill looking down to the second green is incredible though, with the third tee and seventh green just off the back right, so it's no hardship hanging round there for a couple of extra minutes.

Kuch eventually hits short right, Zach Johnson hooks one into the patrons well short and left, while Poults finds the dancefloor and a two-putt birdie follows. Johnson and Kuch get up and down to also register.

  11. Rose at two overpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Mickelson -5, Rose +2, Thomas +1 (1)

A stellar trio have just made their way off the first green. Phil Mickelson (who started the day at five under) picks up par while Justin Rose goes sub-zero with a birdie to move to two over for the tournament and Justin Thomas stays at one over.

  12. Poulter pars the thirdpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Poulter -4 (3)

A bit of stability for Ian Poulter as he follows a bogey and a birdie with a par on the third.

  13. Poulter back to four underpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Poulter -4 (2)

Ian Poulter immediately redeems his first-hole losses with a textbook birdie on the par-five second:

One 300-yard drive, long iron to the edge of the green, long putt to within two feet, tap in for the birdie.

    Easy money.

  15. Lyle losing groundpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 12 April 2019

    Lyle +4 (8), Olazabal +10 (6)

It has turned ugly all of a sudden for Sandy Lyle.

The Scot was looking handy at one under. Since then he has copped bogeys at three and eight, either side of a double on five.

    He is on three over.

Jose Maria Olazabal has rolled out the wrong side of bed as well. The Spaniard has coughed up four bogies on his first five holes to slide to 10 over.

Don't they grow quickly! I can remember Danny Willett posing for pictures in his Green Jacket with his then newborn son Zach just after winning the Masters in 2016.

Glad to see the little man is ensuring their won't be a problem identifying his Dad's ball out on the course!
