This is incredible stuff. Tony Finau could shatter all sorts of records out there with what he's doing. Webb Simpson is joining him in the absurd as he's now seven under for his round and eight under overall.

    Where will this end?

I can tell you Finau has 10ft for ANOTHER birdie on nine. Surely not?

Simpson walks on to a par five. Pass me the 3-D glasses and a bucket of popcorn. This is full throttle scoring.

  2. Birdie for Koepkapublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Scott -8, Koepka -7 (2)

Adam Scott has found a bunker at the second. His lead lasted for all of a matter of minutes before Tony Finau screeched into top spot.

Scott clips out of the sand to the back left of the green, 11 feet beyond the pin, work to be done to salvage par... and he does it, par for the Australian.

Can Brooks Koepka wipe out that opening bogey? Yes, he can - it's getting more and more cluttered at the top.

I know they call it moving day but I just can't handle this. It's mayhem. Leaderboard mayhem. All bets are off.

    Molinari -7, Day -7 (1)

Francesco Molinari opens his third round with a par. The Italian is out in the final group alongside Jason Day today, who also starts with a par.

Solid, but there are birdies dropping all over Augusta at the minute...

    Mickelson -5 (3)

Phil Mickelson makes bogey on five but then puts his tee shot this close on six. Can he find a complete response and get that shot back? He kind of needs to because I'll be honest, it's all going on at Augusta National.

Webb Simpson has joined the pack chasing, he's six under for his round. Tony Finau is now outright leader on nine under thanks to an eagle on the par-five. As I said, it's kicking off.

    Phil for birdie.... no.

  7. 'They just haven't talked about him'published at 19:57 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

European Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington speaking on BBC Two:

"There was a buzz coming into this week with how many of the top players are playing well. And they have delivered with one or two exceptions. There are a pile of players at the top of the leaderboard but I'd go for Francesco Molinari.

"They just haven't talked about him over here. They don't put him at the top of the leaderboard even though he should be. They want the story of Brooks [Kopeka], of DJ [Dustin Johnson] they want the story of Tiger [Woods].

"Saying that all golfers want the story of Tiger."

    Woods -6, Poulter -5 (4)

That looked like it might just drop for Tiger Woods, but it flirts with the cup and skids on narrowly by as the American makes a fourth successive par.

Ian Poulter prowls the green before leaving his birdie putt short and also tucking away for par.

A good look at the fourth pin for Tiger Woods from the tee box. The four-time champion sticks it 10 feet or so left of the flag and maintains an absolute poker face.

Ian Poulter goes second, firing it beyond the pin but it wriggles back somewhat to leave him a makeable birdie putt.

  10. McIlroy firing on back ninepublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Peter Scrivener
    BBC Sport at Augusta National

Rory McIlroy ended his first nine with three bogeys in four holes to drop to two over for the tournament.

I was following him round and that familiar jaunty bounce to his stride had gone flat as he walked between encouraging patrons from the ninth green to 10th tee - staring straight ahead, a picture of concentration.

But a booming drive down the middle and a towering iron to eight feet set up a birdie. He bogeyed 11, but hit back with a birdie on the 13th after pulling his tee shot left into trouble.

An eagle followed on the 15th, with a birdie on 16 and suddenly McIlroy is roaring at two under. Too far back? He's got one to play...

    McIlroy -2 (17)

You may recall earlier on we saw Rory McIlroy hitting trees like they were targets and generally flip-flopping between birdies and bogeys.

A run of birdie-par-eagle-birdie from the 13th is more of what we expected. It's come maybe 48 holes too late but still, better late than never eh?

  12. Scott takes outright leadpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Scott -8, Koepka -6 (1)

Just as it was all getting bunched at the top, Adam Scott pokes his nose into the lead at Augusta - the 2013 champion birdies the first to move to eight under par.

Brooks Koepka is heading the other way... he bogeys the first to drop to six under.

  13. 'Woods is a different guy now'published at 19:46 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Paul Azinger
1993 PGA Championship winner from Augusta

I felt like the Tour Championship was such a big win for Tiger Woods. Jack Nicklaus said he'd never seen Tiger so confident after speaking to him at the Champions Dinner.

He has become a popular person, he hangs out with the players more than ever we were treated as the enemy in the past..

He is a different guy now and he can be successful this way as well.

  14. Pars for Woods and Poulterpublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Woods -6, Poulter -5 (3)

The Augusta patrons like that, or do they? A gasp of anticipation as Tiger Woods clips on to the green, but it drowns out as his ball kicks on a touch further than they'd like.

Fast birdie putt for Ian Poulter coming slightly down the slope on the third green, but he never quite catches the line and settles for par. As will Tiger, who leaves his birdie putt slightly short.

  15. More leaders...published at 19:45 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Harding -7 Schauffele -7 (both after 2)

    Justin HardingImage source, BBC Sport

South Africa's Justin Harding isn't exactly well known outside his homeland but he's been pulling up trees at the Augusta National this year.

Two sub-70 rounds left the 33-year-old one stroke off the lead, which is even more impressive when you consider his only other appearance at a major championship ended rather prematurely with a missed cut at the Open in 2013.

And guess what, he now shares the lead with birdie on two. Players are taking that hole apart and both he and partner Xander Schauffele get it done to move to seven under.

Tiger Woods cracks his drive just short of 300 yards at the par-four third. Ian Poulter takes a slightly different route to the left of the fairway but watches his effort kick on beyond his playing partner. Whip.

  18. Bubba on the climbpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Watson -4 (14)

Who's that creeping into view?! Surely not Bubba Watson!

The two-time Masters champion strings together three birdies on the bounce down the stretch to move to four under par, and suddenly he's within three of the lead.

  19. The 15th manpublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Finau -7 (6)

The average world ranking of Masters champions is 15.

The 15th-ranked player in the world finished 10th in last year's Masters after dislocating his ankle before the tournament.

But he's birdied four of his first six holes today to move into a six-way share of the lead.

He's still world number 15, so is he about to move from 10th last year to champion this?

  20. Another challenger...published at 19:34 British Summer Time 13 April 2019

    Finau -7 (6)

Tony Finau is looking at the leaderboard and the fireworks served up by Patrick Cantlay and thinking he wants some of that. The big American is four under for his round after just six holes and seven under overall.

He's joined the lead with a 12ft birdie putt on six but drives into trees on seven and has a bit of woodland to navigate...
