    Olesen -5 (1) Scott -7 (1)

Thorbjorn Olesen gets it wrong on one, driving into trees to leave himself no shot at all. He ends up coming out sideways and it's a bogey all day. Adam Scott alongside him is in for par - he needs birdies though.

The tops of the Georgia pines are bending in the freshening breeze - we're not talking links golf wind here but it's still picking up and It's warm and humid out there. Definitely shorts and t-shirt weather, with a rain jacket tied around the waist.

It's not a great look but then who's going to be taking any notice of me as I traipse round after Tiger, Francesco and Tony?

Will the winner come from the leading group? Remember, Tiger's never won a major when trailing going into the final round...

...and Francesco has got a decent record against him in the last 12 months - I was up close at Carnoustie for The Open duel - and the Italian beat the American three times at the Ryder Cup.

But it's about more than just those two...Danny Willett, by way of example, came from six back to win in 2016.

    McIlroy -1 (12*), Spieth -6 (2)

Rory McIlroy is still managing to hold firm against Augusta, level pegging after three holes on the back nine.

It's too late to rule out Jordan Spieth, right? Right? The 2015 champion is making an early charge as tries to put some fear into those alreaady at the top.

Birdie, birdie moves the American up to six under.

  9. Pin positionspublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

Enough to strike fear into the most fearless - except (I'd imagine) Francesco Molinari. Cut him open and he'd bleed iced water.

Precision is always the key at Augusta. Today the hopefuls will need to use their short irons like compasses. Both technical drawing and navigational varieties.

    Mickelson -5 (1) Scott -7 (on tee) Day -6 (1)

Some choppy scoring out there but Jason Day makes his par on one, stays at six under.

We are getting to tee times now for players who may feel they still have an outside sniff.

Adam Scott is one of them, though at seven under, he will need the round of his life. He's about to tee it up.

Phil Mickelson on the green, beautiful putt, stops short. That was for par. Bogey.

  12. Patrons heading down to Amen Cornerpublished at 13:35 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Peter Scrivener
    BBC Sport at Augusta National

Washington Road, the five-lane highway right outside Augusta National was awash with patrons at 07:00 local time as we pulled in to the parking lot.

Every single one was carrying a Masters-regulation green chair. The gates opened at 07:15 and already patrons have been claiming their place around the key greens.

There are dozens of chairs round the 18th for example and, while I'm yet to get down there, there were many more speed walking down to Amen Corner and the 16th green.

And once you've put your chair in position, you can wander off round the course at your leisure, safe in the knowledge that when you fancy a rest, your seat will be in a prime spot and nobody will have touched it.

A par-par start for Rors today.

Jordan Spieth would have been in the mix were it not for a dire start to his tournament. He moves to within six feet of the pin on one having fired an iron in over 160 yards. It's a birdie and he's five under.

Remember when Bryson DeChambeau was co-leading the Masters after day one? That's all just a distant memory for the American.

He looks like a man who is a bit grumpy after an early start. Or maybe that's just the two double bogeys which he has started with. Ouch.
