  1. Another birdie for Rosepublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

Justin Rose's late charge continues to gather momentum. Big drive down 15 leaves a flicked wedge to six feet and a straightforward birdie. The Englishman is on a big roll.

Brooks Koepka, however, is struggling a little. He's got a four-footer for par. In majors gone by he'd have gobbled that up but today his putter has been a little cold. His ball whistles by without even looking at the hole. A shot goes.

Off they go to Calamity Corner...

  3. It just won't drop for Rahm at the lastpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Rahm -7 (68)

A frustrating end for Jon Rahm. First he finds a fairway bunker, then his putt for par hangs on the lip of the cup.

The Spaniard waits just to see if it drops. And waits. And waits. And waits. To no avail, he has to feather it in.

Amid this Tommy v Shane Saturday showdown, it feels Lee Westwood is getting lost a little.

All the hype is around the top two, the cheers of “c’mon Tommy” and “yes, Shane” almost battling to outdo each other on this part of the course.

  5. Birdies!published at 18:40 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Lowry -13 (12) Holmes -11 (12)

Shane Lowry bounces along, a hive of energy. He nicely tidied up his brave drive and approach on 12, putting twice to seal birdie and the lead.

JB Holmes picked up a shot too on the easiest hole on the course but it's Lowry setting a pace in Northern Ireland and he's getting some serious love from the locals.

    Iain Carter
BBC Sport golf correspondent at Royal Portrush

"It finds the green, it finds the green, some 25 or 26ft left of the flag and the leader will have a putt for eagle."

That's what Iain Carter shouts as Shane Lowry finds the dancefloor on 12. Big putt to come. Why not listen on 5 Live by clicking play at the top of this page?

I wonder if Tommy Fleetwood and Lee Westwood are aware of what’s going on behind them? The cheers were clear when Shane Lowry birdied to go into the lead earlier and the hordes of people who were following them have slipped away in dribs and drabs to keep tabs on the final group.

  9. Koepka fighting backpublished at 18:31 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Rose -9, Koepka -8 (14)

Brooks Koepka makes immediate amends for his bogey on the 13th with a birdie on the 14th. The world number one back to eight under. He's not out of this yet.

Justin Rose is in with a par.

There aren't many major winners up at the top, and Danny Willett thinks that makes a difference. He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "To have been through it. To know how your hands are going to feel, how your legs are going to feel, how your heart is going to beat through your chest and how all those little demons are going to start talking to you halfway through your round, I know those feelings pretty well."

Oh Tommy, Tommy! I’m not sure whether this crowd want to keep willing him on or hope he drops to allow Shane Lowry through. At the minute they’re just enjoying some fantastic golf from both.

    Fleetwood -12 (12) Lowry -12 (11)

Tommy Fleetwood takes from the 12th like it's an all you can eat buffett. A par-five, it's there to be hammered.

His birdie ties the lead but Shane Lowry is on the tee box and lampoons it up the middle. He will surely hunt birdie here.

Whisper it, but the conditions remain perfect at Royal Portrush this evening. There’s little to no breeze, it’s mild and we’ve not seen a spot of rain all day.

Tomorrow is set to be a different picture altogether so those still out there will want to be really attacking this links course.

    Sunday could get interesting.

"Down, down, down," shouts Shane Lowry.

He's gone over the flag on 11 by some distance and has maybe 50ft downhill for birdie. The touch is good and he should tap home a par. He's done well to get that so close.

Lee Westwood and Tommy Fleetwood have birdie opportunities a hole ahead - the easiest on the course. The 12th is averaging 4.63 shots as a par five.

JB Holmes makes par on 11 too, his eighth in a row.

  18. Rose moves within threepublished at 18:21 British Summer Time 20 July 2019

    Rose -9, Koepka -7 (13)

Justin Rose, buoyed by the eagle on the 12th, parachutes his tee shot onto the par-three 13th green. A big birdie chance.

Brooks Koepka is in the sand. A wedge out but no par save for the world number one, who is dropping back.

Can Rose capitalise? Yes. He. Can. And suddenly the 2013 US Open champion is back and challenging. Just three off the lead.

The first time Helen Storey ever caddied for her partner Lee Westwood, she walked to retrieve a big divot and remarked “I hope there’s not a worm in this.”

Westwood says her approach keeps him loose on the course as he now takes responsibility for everything from wind direction to club selection.

“She doesn’t know too much about golf but she knows a lot about the way my mind works," Westwood told Golf.com., external "So she keeps me in a good frame of mind and focusing on the right things at the right time."

This is Helen's first attempt at being on the bag in a major despite having taken up the role last year.
