  1. 'If I made a few early putts on Friday and Saturday...'published at 21:49 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Tiger Woods was two-over on days two and three. Had he been in the red - even just a little - he'd be another big name in that log jam at the top of the leaderboard right now. Instead, he finished on one under for the week earlier.

Tom Fisk: Would love Casey to win. Always been a great golfer and great professional! Of the Americans, I really like Finau so would be pretty happy with him winning. Gonna be a gripping final round!

  3. Champ and Morikawa under waypublished at 21:46 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Cameron Champ misses the fairway by some distance from the first tee - he is playing alongside Collin Morikawa, another young American talent.

    And then there were two.

  4. Postpublished at 21:44 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

DeChambeau and Finau are both up to eight under!!!

It'll be a winning score of about -13?

  5. Postpublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Bryson DeChambeau plays a glorious iron to about two feet - he is set for another birdie on the second to go up to eight under.

Koepka's birdie putt on the first breaks left at the wrong moment. Par for both him and Casey. They remain at seven under.

Tony Finau nails his birdie putt - he had about 10 feet.

  6. Postpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Paul Casey looks like he's hunting for worms like you did in primary school - he's actually checking the lie of his golf ball which is sitting in some ugly rough...

Decent approach, but he's got 40 feet left and it'll be par at best on the first for the Englishman.

Koepka has an outside chance of a birdie - he's about 14 feet away.

  7. Casey and Koepka begin final roundspublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Bryson DeChambeau and Tony Finau both grab birdies at the first. They're up to seven under - two off the lead held by Dustin Johnson who goes out at 21:50 BST.

Paul Casey and Brooks "Looking for his third successive win" Koepka both get their rounds under way.

  8. Woods finishes with best round of the weekpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

There'll be no fifth US PGA win for Tiger Woods today but at least the 15-time major winner finished the championship on a positive note. The 44-year-old, who has spent five months out this year due to a back injury and the pandemic, hit his best round of the week, a three-under 67 to finish one below par.

"It was better," he said. "The greens weren't as quick or as crusty. The course playing it a bit slower. It was playing long.

"It [his body] held up pretty good with it being as chilly as it is. It'll be nice when it is a bit warmer."

Woods wouldn't confirm which event will be his next but said: "I'll take a week off before getting back out there."

  10. Day up to seven underpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Justin Rose's (-6) birdie attempt fails to hang a left on the second, while 2015 champion Jason Day moves up to seven under after sinking a nine-footer.

Rory McIlroy finishes with par and a 68 for two under. Never got going.

  11. Postpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

Bryson DeChambeau and Tony Finau gets their final rounds under way. Up next Paul Casey and Brooks Koepka - I fancy both could spur each other on,

  12. Varner III up among thempublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

This is interesting. Harold Varner III, as you saw in the leaderboard entry earlier, is three under for the day and six under overall.

If the 29-year-old Carolina Panthers gets on a run then who knows?

He's only had one top 10 finish this season and missed the last two cuts.

Tiger Woods looked good after a 68 in the opening round but never got going after that with two 72s.

However, on Sunday we saw some of the Woods of old as the 15-time major winner made five birdies, and two bogeys, to finish with a 67 on one under.

South Korea's Byeong Hun An and USA's Ryan Palmer managed 64s, while three-time major winner Jordan Spieth, who struggled with a 76 on Friday, finished with a happiness-making 67.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy (-2) is still out there on the course, with an eagle on the 16th the highlight and world number one Justin Thomas finished with a two-under par 68 for one under overall.

  14. Fighting talk from Koepkapublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

The mind games started after yesterday’s round with two-time defending champion Brooks Koepka having a dig at some of his rivals for the Wanamaker Trophy. Brooks has won four majors, all of them since overnight leader Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose and Jason Day claimed their solitary major win.

Asked if it's harder to win the second than the first, Brooks said: “If you look at the top of the leaderboard, I’d say yes.”

Asked why, he replied: “Expectations. It does become difficult if you think you’ve play good enough to play multiple ones.”

“I’ve just got to play solid golf, like what I've been doing," he added. "A lot of guys I don't think have won. I guess DJ's won one but I don’t know about the other guys up there.

“I like my chances. When I’ve been in this position before I’ve capitalised. He [Johnson] has only won one. I mean, I’m playing good. We’ll see.”

  18. Ready for a nail-biting climax?published at 20:48 British Summer Time 9 August 2020

    First, an apology.

There will be CAPS and exclamation marks used in this live text as we near the conclusion of the 2020 US PGA Championship.

You see, this has been one of the most fiercely fought majors in years - just look at the leaderboard! (I went early there), there are 11 players within three shots of leader Dustin Johnson.

There's a story in itself: Johnson only has one major to his name having finished as a runner-up on four other occasions. Can he get over the line again?

Behind him is a trio of American youngsters: Cameron Champ, Scottie Scheffler and Collin Morikawa.

You've also got heavyweights Jason Day and, of course, Brooks Koepka looking to win his third successive US PGA title.

Right in the mix are three Englishmen: the rejuvenated Paul Casey, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose. Throw in Tony Finau and the cult figure of Bryson DeChambeau and you've got some of the cream of modern golf.

So make sure your nails are clean because you'll be biting them in a few hours.
