  1. Sagstrom hands hole to USApublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst 1UP (14)

It's a rare bad miss for Sagstrom and it's just the time of the round when you don't want to be letting your opponents get their noses in front.

You especially don't want to go behind to a bad putting error like that one. Work to do for Europe in the top match.

    6UP M Reid & L Maguire v N Korda & A Ewing (12)

Mel Reid and Nelly Korda power tee shots down the par-five 13th, giving their playing partners ample opportunity to attack the green.

Ally Ewing is up first, with a hybrid, the ball lands on the front edge and scuttles through to the back right and into the fringe.

Leona Maguire, from slightly closer. Same result. The balls are side by side.

  3. Pedersen pulls one backpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 1UP (13)

The European pair grab a hole back just when they needed it to try and stem the growing tied of American red trying to swarm this leaderboard.

Lexi Thompson has gone a long time since winning a Solheim Cup point so Europe will try to play on any nerves going down the stretch.

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho (11)

On the par-four 11th, Anna Nordqvist steps up for another long-range birdie putt - and it is a beauty.

Perfect pace, perfect line, and yet it just skirts over the edge of the cup. She sinks to her knees in disbelief. To be fair, so do we!

It is Lizette Salas to putt for par, for another tied hole, at around 6ft or so - and of course she does not miss from there.

Another halved hole - not quite enough to whip the gathered crowd into a frenzy... yet.

  6. Kang goes ballisticpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Sagstrom & Hall A/S Kang & Ernst (13)

Danielle Kang's gone from energetic to nuclear in terms of fist pumping ferocity as she nails another putt from distance to win the 13th and get this match back to all square.

It's a fascinating contest this one but now the crowd are really jacked up and ready to cheer on the home side - it's perhaps the loudest they've been so far.

Let's see how this European pair handle this true Solheim Cup atmoshpere.

  7. Europe go dormie in match threepublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    6UP M Reid & L Maguire v N Korda & A Ewing (12)

Nelly Korda is out with the putter. The US ball is in the fringe but given her wedge woes today, perhaps this is the smart play.

It's a slow putt up the hill and Korda gives it a fair old rattle. Too much of a rattle and it zips a good 10 feet beyond the hole, almost off the other side of the green in fact.

So, Leona Maguire, hole this and you go dormie - six up with six to play... she's aiming a foot or so right and she also gets giddy, knocking the ball four feet past.

Ally Ewing goes two feet past and that looks a generous concession.

But here's Reid for the win. Walks it in.

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho (10)

Matilda Castren has a very outside chance to birdie at the 10th from way out, but she reads the green well and positions the ball beautifully for Anna Nordqvist to putt for par.

Jennifer Kupcho has a straight forward enough putt within10ft away to tie with a par - and she does. Europe stays one ahead as they move on to the par-four 11th.

    5UP M Reid & L Maguire v N Korda & A Ewing (11)

Mel Reid hits Europe's tee shot on the short 12th and I reckon she'd have been liking that in the air. It was right on line but hit the ground about 30 feet short of the hole and did not really skip forward.

Ally Ewing needs to go close here. Right hand comes straight off the club and the ball sails to the back left of the green. It's down where Europe were in the previous group, probably 40 feet away.

  10. Thompson misses a tiddlerpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 2UP (12)

As we’ve seen the last two days, the par threes have been kind for the Americans and again the short hole has done some damage with Altomare sticking it close while Pedersen was way off.

Hull gave the birdie putt a good whack but it was in hope more than expectation and left Pedersen with some work to do. When she does Thompson is left with atiddlerto go three up, and the way she’s been putting today....NO she misses!

Big opportunity missed there by the Americans and maybe those putting woes Thompson has suffered haven’t completely gone away after all.

    5UP M Reid & L Maguire v N Korda & A Ewing (11)

Mel Reid is a little off target with Europe's second shot to the par-four 11th but Leona Maguire hits a sensational putt from off the front of the green to gimme range.

That means Nelly Korda has to hole from 15 feet to reduce the deficit. She gives it a good roll, but the ball starts right and stays right.

Europe 5UP with seven to play.

  12. Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst (12)

Sagstrom hits the post with a long-range birdie effort on the 12th which looked in all the way - luckily it bounces out half a foot and doesn't 'overhang' to avoid any controversy.

Kang breaks out the fist pump again when she sinks a four-footer to halve the hole - that's more out of relief after watching Sagstrom's effort.

  14. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho (9)

Jennifer Kupcho trying to putt from the thick cabbage at the back of the green and up a slope - and this did not go well. The ball wriggles back towards her.

Lizette Salas steps up as she is often the saviour of the long-range putt but that hill is brutal and the ball runs out of steam.

Over to Europe and it is Matilda Castren's turn as she is also looking at a long push up the hill and she raps that with committed pace.

It is bogeys all round to halve the hole and more importantly... the Europeans hang on to a slim lead at the turn.

  15. Europe closing in on big winpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    5UP M Reid & L Maguire v N Korda & A Ewing (10)

Leona Maguire continues her dream Solheim Cup debut with another pin-seeker on the par-four 10th.

Nelly Korda fired her second into the front of the green and the ball gripped and spun backwards into the fringe rough.

Ally Ewing is out with the putter and almost makes the 20-footer, the ball sidling off right at the death.

That means Mel Reid has an eight-footer for the win. Sets it out right, curling, curling, curling...last rotation... drops.

  16. Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst (11)

No dramas for Hall who taps in to halve the 11th and keep Europe ahead in the top match - this could be a crucial one for momentum with America just dropping a few putts and making some moves elsewhere.

  17. Brittany does it againpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 2UP (10)

Brittany Altomare has barely had a putt today, but when she steps up for a shot from distance on the 10th she shows why she's one of the best putters in the tournament by draining a monster to take the hole.

That's now a two-hole lead for the USA in this one as the hosts start to build a head of steam and the crowd start to wake up a bit.

  18. Postpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho (8)

Anna Nordqvist is in the sand and the ball just travels further up the bank... and plops itself back down in the sand. We've ALL been there.

She is back to bogey to tie the hole (how often does that happen?), but - oh no! The ball horseshoes around the cup.

The door was cranked open and the US charged back through it - lead cut, again!

  19. Europe 4UP at the turnpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    4UP M Reid & L Maguire v N Korda & A Ewing (9)

Nelly Korda's wedge woes continue on the ninth. She changes club at the last minute and tries to flick a low runner but again does not give that enough of a clout and the ball halts about half the distance to the hole and then goes into reverse, leaving Ally Ewing a 25-footer for par.

Leona Maguire is about 30 feet away for birdie. Straight up the hill. But she knows two putts will probably be enough here. A great lag putt to a foot. There's a few laughs and smiles amid a touch of confusion over whether the putt had been conceded. Please no more controversy!

Here's Ewing for the half. Gets it to the hole, but three inches left.

  20. Hall lands a bomb to go aheadpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst (10)

Georgia Hall can really roll it as she makes yet another long-ranger to add to an already superb highlight reel of putts this week. She's piled up some footage of putts made!

That putt from range really rattled the USA team who were far closer but with the pressure suddenly turned the putt doesn't drop and Europe go back in front.
