  1. Maguire birdies first hole for Europepublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas (1)

Lizette Salas picks up. The best she can hope for is a bogey and Jennifer Kupcho and Mel Reid then sort out their pars.

Birdie for Leona Maguire though who nails her putt. Never in doubt that and adds a nice tinge of blue to the leaderboard.

  2. Korda claims the secondpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Ciganda & Madsen v J. Korda & Khang 1UP (2)

Jessica Korda puts America ahead in a second match as she knocks in an eagle putt from the fringe to take the second hole.

It's the kind of spark that was sorely missing from Korda and the rest of Team USA yesterday but they've been dropping putts in from everywhere today.

  3. Match four is off and runningpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Hull & Pedersen v Kang and Ernst

We've had whooping, we've had hollering, we've even had 'Happy Birthday' and now we are off with Charley Hull and Emily Pedersen against Danielle Kang and Austin Ernst.

Emily Pedersen banished a fair few demons yesterday from her first Solheim outing. She steps up to the tee and stays on the short stuff. Next up is Charley Hull - ouch she finds the sand.

For USA is it Danielle Kang first who rests just shy of the first cut of rough, and Austin Ernst also ends up in the sand.

But the real news to bring you for this fourball - Olly Brett (Emily Pedersen's boyfriend) is caddying for... Danielle Kang. Let's see how that works out over the afternoon!

    Reid & Maguire A/S Kupcho & Salas

Not bad from Jennifer Kupcho who lands her ball on the green at the first. One or two groans from the gallery though as Lizette Salas plops her ball into the right bunker.

Mel Reid up next for Europe. What can the English woman do from here? She's on but will have a long birdie putt.

Might not be needed mind as Leona Maguire zips her iron into around six feet. Stunning.

  5. First blood USApublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae 1UP (2)

Yealimi Noh draws first blood for the USA as she's the only one who can find a birdie four on the second hole to put the hosts one up.

Particularly disappointing from Popov who was just off the back of the green in two but couldn't get up and down for a half.

    Ciganda & Madsen A/S J. Korda & Khang (1)

Well, it's a step up in quality from the first group as the hole is halved in four and that's a little bit more like the quality we've become used to seeing in this tournament.

  7. Match three under waypublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Reid & Maguire v Kupcho & Salas

Leona Maguire must be thinking 'this Solheim Cup stuff is easy'.

The Irish player has won three points from three matches so far and must be brimming with confidence especially given the way her and Mel Reid dispatched Nelly Korda and Ally Ewing before.

More of the same here? She has just boomed her tee shot straight down the centre of the fairway on the first. Reid follows with more of the same. Steady stuff from Lizette Salas and Jennifer Kupcho as well.

Not at all like the last fourball I played in.

  8. Postpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov A/S Noh & Harigae (1)

The second has it’s full muscles flexed today as a genuine par five, but Popov still knocks her ball on the green in two, well, just off the back of the green to be precise. Noh does the same but with a long iron as opposed to Popov’s fairway wood.

Some big hitting in this first group.

  9. Match two heads offpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Ciganda & Madsen v J. Korda & Khang

It's seriously loud on the first tee box now, but the European duo of Carlota Ciganda and Nanna Madsen get their opening shots away without too much fuss.

Jessica Korda and Megan Khang are also away safely, with Khang a bundle of American energy as she bounces around the tee box getting the fans hyped before lashing her drive into the first cut down the left.

    Boutier & Popov A/S Noh & Harigae (1)

Well, that's an instantly forgettable first hole that won’t make the DVD of the event as all four of our golfers make a bogey five on what's a relatively straightforward hole.

Sophia Popov had the best chance to clinch it with what was no more than four feet for par but she pushed at it badly, it was more of a cover drive you'd see at the Oval today.

  11. Back under way in the fourballs!published at 17:18 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Boutier & Popov v Noh & Harigae

We're back under way and with the home crowd in great spirits, Mina Harigae whips them up into a frenzy again for her tee shot, which finds the sand.

Yealimi Noh has too much adrenalin in her blast off the tee and runs out of fairway, while Sophia Popov pops one into the bunker and Celine Boutier rips one right down to the edge of the fairway.

  14. Get Involved - The right call?published at 16:52 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Most people seem to agree the ball wasn't about to drop, but we also agree Madelene Sagstrom didn't wait the 10 seconds.

So, we just want to know whether you think the ruling was the correct one - should Nelly Korda and Team USA have got the eagle that gave them the hole?

Get those thumbs ready...(although I think we all know which way this one will go)

Thumbs up for yes, the correct ruling, and thumbs down for no!

  15. 'Team USA got the job done' - Salaspublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Another fight to the finish from Lizette Salas and jennifer Kupcho and here's what they had to say to Sky Sports:

Lizette Salas: "It was huge. Team USA got the job done this morning.

"We got together as a team, said a few things and we're just trying to use it to our advantage."

Jennifer Kupcho: "After yesterday we were also two down and we turned it around. Whenever we can get the crowd on our side it's an amazing feeling and we can get some more red."

  17. USA win the last foursome 3&1published at 16:45 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho 3&1 (F)

Anna Nordqvist steps up for a very challenging long-range birdie putt - it had the legs but settles off to the left of the pin.

Around 20ft plus for Jennifer Kupcho, who has really picked up the putting pace on the back nine, and what an amazing putt.

It had perfect pace and weight and drops in and the point is USA's with a 3&1 win.

  18. Postpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho 2UP (16)

Two holes to go, Europe have to win both to salvage a half point - and it feels like a salvage job, having been in front for 13 holes. Unlucky (for some).

Jennifer Kupcho and Anna Nordqvist deliver decent fairway-finders.

Matilda Carsten finds the green in two, and can Lizette Salas do the same?

Well, she can do much better, actually. She is closer to the pin, and with the sounds of 'USA, USA' ringing in their ears - well it is going to be a big test of nerves for the European pair.
