    Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho 2UP (16)

Jennifer Kupcho does it again! She par-putts as Europe bogey, and the splash of red at the bottom of the leaderboard grows ever larger, with two holes to go.

    Monumental effort required by Europe.

  4. Thompson makes it two quick USA winspublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 2&1 (F)

Wouldn’t you just know it! After all that it’s the putter of Lexi Thompson that seals the match to the delight of a packed mound surrounding the 7th green.

It's a brilliant putt from some way out but it's played to perfection and just dies into the hole on its final roll.

Two quick points for the USA has sent the home faithful wild in Ohio and the Solheim Cup fight is well and truly on now!

There's a slight hint of Europe handing that one to the USA as Hull and Pedersen just made a few too many mistakes coming down the stretch, but Thompson will not care one bit as she gets a long-awaited victory.

  5. USA take the top match!published at 16:24 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst 1UP (F)

The USA get on the board today with a tight victory.

The two approach shots both land within a foot of each other on the front of the green - Kang has the chance to win the match first but there's no conviction in the stroke and it gives Hall the chance to grab a half.

The ball just wanders away to the right though and America take the top match and their first point of the day.

  7. USA go ahead in the last foursomepublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho 1UP (15)

Jennifer Kupcho in the fringes drains a huge putt on the 15th to rapturous cheers, and the leaderboard splahses red!

What a turnaround for Team USA ... and there are three holes to play.

Please keep your arms inside the car until the ride comes to a complete stop.

  8. Hull suffers bunker blippublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 1UP (16)

That’s the ugly noise of ball before sand from the bunker that we all hate as Charley Hull blades her effort right over the back of the green from what was a relatively simple escape.

Even from there though, a nice scramble from Pedersen gives Hull the chance to win the hole and level the match with a short putt down the slope, but she tickles it wide and the USA retain their lead.

Not the best hole from either of them though.

  9. Postpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst 1UP (17)

Usually you’d think it a bit over the top for such a full-on fist pump after a two-foot putt, but for Danielle Kang it means that the Americans are dormie one and guaranteed a half from this match as they head to 18.

Europe still battling but now it’s all down to the final hole to grab a share of the spoils.

  10. USA pull it back to all-squarepublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Nordqvist & Castren A/S Salas & Kupcho (14)

The final foursome are having to hustle as this group are on the clock now.

Lizette Salas chips from the front of the green and runs up the slope nicely, but Matilda Castren opts to putt along the undulations. The pace is good - but it moves wide of the cup.

It is a simple enough task for Jennifer Kupcho to putt out for par, but it's a double bogey form Europe that sees their preciuos lead eradicated.

We are all-square at the back.

  12. Both go close in chip-offpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst 1UP (16)

It's a chip-off on the 16th and Hall goes first and has to dig it out of some thick stuff but it's bang on line and...so close! It hits the flag but doesn't drop. At that pace it was either whistling past or dropping in, but in the end it settles next to the hole.

Kang then almost goes one better but her chip comes up just short and they carry on to 17 with just the one hole in it.

  13. Postpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Hull & Pedersen v Thompson & Altomare 1UP (15)

Hull can’t believe her putt from the edge of the green doesn’t drop despite it having a very, very long look at the hole but stays up.

Thompson is 10 feetcloser, her putt is never up and never in but she’d done the right thing in making sure of the half and taking out any chance of losing it.

They move on with the USA still in front.

    Reid & Maguire beat N Korda & Ewing 5&4

Mel Reid and Leona Maguire has been some foursomes pairing this week. Two matches, two victories.

Here's what they had to say, speaking on Sky Sports:

Leona Maguire: "We played great all day and it was nice to finish it off in style. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my Solheim career and I couldn't have asked for a better partner."

Mel Reid: "We'd not really spoken to each other before this week but I told her she might actually might start to like me by the end of the week. To take down Nelly twice is a big ask."

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho (13)

Lizette Salas with a great chace to putt to win the 13th for USA - it zig-zags, and then flirts with the edge of the cup. She is not happy - she has putted far further under pressure and she knows it!

Anna Nordqvist follows up with a par putt to keep the pressure on. They still lead as the holes tick by. Time is running out for the final foursome to reverse their fortunes.

  17. Reid & Maguire beat Korda & Ewing 5&4published at 15:49 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

Leona Maguire is some player. I know I've written that before this weekend. And I'm sure I'll write it again.

She's standing over a six-foot putt to win a third point from three matches. And the Irishwoman makes no mistake.

A huge fist-pump and a yell of "come on" breaks the silence of the US fans. Mel Reid comes in for a warm embrace and does not want to let her playing partner go.

Nelly Korda defeated in the foursomes, for the second time. Boom!

  18. Toe-to-toe on the 14thpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    Sagstrom & Hall v Kang & Ernst 1UP (14)

They're like boxers landing blow-for-blow on the 14th as Sagstrom just misses, then Ernst just misses, then Hall cleans up and forces Kang to take that punch to the guts and respond..And she does!

Both of these teams are really up for this fight and it could go the distance...

  19. Postpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    1UP Nordqvist & Castren v Salas & Kupcho (12)

Lizette Salas on the par-three 12th tee and what an absolute belter as she is positioned perfectly on the green for a potential birdie and a chance to peg Europe right back.

Jennifer Kupcho has the chance to win the hole and cut the deficit with a birdie, slightly downhill. Her line was perfect but just slips by the side of the cup and the annoyance is real as Kupcho snatches at the ball.

Europe still lead, as they move on to the 13th.

  20. Korda holes monster puttpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 5 September 2021

    5UP Reid & Maguire v N Korda & Ewing (13)

Nelly Korda sticks a tee peg in the ground to mark her ball so Mel Reid can play first - Europe are fractionally further away.

Europe just need a half here to close out the match. Reid has a go with the putter. Decent line, curling in from the right but it slides by on the low side. Needs to slow up a bit too. That keeps going about five feet past.

Korda also takes the putter out of her bag. She's struggled around the greens today. She's struggled on the fairways too, to be fair. What kind of read has she got off Reid's ball?

There's the answer... it's perfection from Korda. Putt drained. The US stay in the match.
