    1UP Castren v Salas (17)

Matilda Castren gives that a good rap up the hill and oh boy, it had the distance and just drifts wide.

Lizette Salas about 5ft down the slope - and it misses!

We breathe again, but just barely!

Salas goes again to extend the match - and of course she gets it.

Castren from a couple of feet away pars and holds on to her lead.

One to play. Chomp those nails, people!

  2. Altomare goes one uppublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Ciganda v Altomare 1UP (16)

Oh my. Carlota Ciganda who goes wide at the 16th is in trouble.

Brittany Altomare has two putts to win the hole and duly obliges by knocking her first up to within a few inches.

    Momentum shifter?

    1UP Castren v Salas (16)

Lizette Salas' second shot at the 17th and - my goodness, what a shot.

Her approach to the green comes to rest just a few feet away from the pin with Castren yet to play her second. The pressure is on now.

Matilda Castren had to play her second second from the fluffy stuff - she hits the green but way in front and it will require a monster putt to keep this lead.

    Koerstz Madsen A/S Ernst (17)

Nanna Koerstz Madsen is on the 18th some 20 feet from the hole.

Will that be good enough? Maybe not? Austin Ernst hits a magnificent approach to eight feet or so.

The home crowd are going crazy..

  5. Korda goes one uppublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Hull v J.Korda 1UP (14)

Charley Hull has seen what looked like a certain point slip away here as Jessica Korda takes the 14th and now goes one ahead at such a crucial stage.

And with an American surge taking place on Inverness Golf Club too...

  6. Popov completes the hat-trickpublished at 22:01 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Popov v Khang 3UP (15)

It's three holes in a row for Popov to go from dormie six to just dormie three.

Just three more holes needed for a half!

  7. Reid three downpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Reid v Noh 3UP (14)

Mel Reid has been battling her socks off but she's just missed a sitter of a short putt and that's seen her slip back to three down with just four to play and this is now a red point coming in.

  8. Postpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Castren v Salas (16)

Matilda Castren hit her approach shot to the 16th just a little long, and Lizette Salas in reply makes the perfect approach, probably about 5ft from the pin.

Castren drains a magnificent putt to birdie, but Salas is warming up that putter again, and just in time too. She ties the hole and on we go with the slim lead, and two holes to play.

    Koerstz Madsen A/S Ernst (17)

Talk about a tight match. Nanna Koerstz Madsen has a putt to win on 17 and then finds herself having to drop in a nervy four footer just to halve the hole.

  11. Postpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Hull A/S J.Korda (13)

Korda almost cans a majestic eagle putt but it's good enough to halve the hole and we continue at all square in a match that could yet be crucial...

  12. Pedersen lengthens her leadpublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    2UP Pedersen v Kang (12)

Danielle Kang's fortunes are going from bad to worse. She misses a par on the 12th and now Pedersen lengthens the lead.

  13. Popov wins two on the trotpublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Popov v Khang 4UP (14)

Sophia Popov is staring a big defeat squarely in the face, but she's not quite ready to pack up just yet.

The German nails a 20-footer to keep herself alive against Megan Khang. Just.

On to the 14th they go. Khang from the fringe off the back of the green. Needs this for a half. Wayward.

Popov is keeping this match going.

  14. Get involvedpublished at 21:40 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

Still confident? Where are these next 1½ points coming from for Europe?

Show the team you care. Thumbs up for a European win...

    Koerstz Madsen A/S Ernst (16)

    What. A. Miss.

There's nothing more that Austin Ernst can do on the 16th after making par.

She has to stand back and watch as Nanna Koerstz Madsen takes her time over a four-foot putt to win the hole.

The Dane somehow slides it past. You can only put that down to pressure, she'd expect to make that 99 times out of a 100. If not 100.

It gives Ernst and the American crowd plenty of encouragement as the players walk off towards the 17th.

  16. 'Hopefully it goes our way' - Nelly Kordapublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

World number one Nelly Korda gets USA's first point on the board today. She told Sky Sports:

"I was two down early on and won two back to back holes but it was close all day and back and forth."

On being the first to get a full point for the USA:

"Hopefully it goes our way and I can’t wait to get out there an support the girls.

"Hopefully get the crowd a little but more hype but they don’t need much more because they’re really loud!"

  17. Postpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Hull A/S J.Korda (12)

It's par threes all round and they move on to the par five next which will be an arms race with both them being able to send it out there with the best of them.

  18. Postpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Castren A/S Salas (15)

Matilda Castren on the 15th drains a monster putt for a birdie and throws the pressure over the fence.

Lizette Salas had the potential to tie the hole and she certainly had the distance, but the ball just did not break enough for her.

More blue on the board again for Castren.

  20. Altomare wins consecutive holes to levelpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Ciganda A/S Altomare (14)

Wow. Brittany Altomare holes from a different zip code on the 14th. Not sure Carlota Ciganda can believe that.

The American claims back-to-back holes to go all square and breathe new life into the US challenge.
