    1UP Ciganda v Altomare (9)

Carlota Ciganda was one of just two Europeans to play all five matches at Gleneagles, in 2019 and she is someone that Catriona Matthew very much feels she can reply on.

A solid par on eight, extended her lead over Brittany Altomare, who has been out of sorts until knocking in a birdie putt on the ninth to reduce her arrears.

    1UP Sagstrom v Ewing (14)

Sagstrom dodges a Ewing bullet there as the American misses a very makeable short putt for the hole.

Ewing has made plenty today, with a lot of those putts needed just to halve holes and stay in the contest, but then misses when it's to square the match.

  5. Castren stays ahead at the turnpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Castren v Salas (9)

Both par the ninth and it is Castren ahead at the turn.

But let's not get too excited - we all know what Lizette Salas can do - and if that putter of hers starts to heat up we could yet see some drama here.

  6. Postpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    4UP Maguire v Kupcho (13)

Another hole ticked off by Leona Maguire.

  7. Boutier out in frontpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    4UP Boutier v Harigae (11)

Celine Boutier emerges from the television black out and she's now four up on Mina Harigae!

Boutier was brilliant of course back at Gleneagles two years ago and she's showing that same matchplay form right now.

    Hall v N Korda 2UP (12)

We're seeing a fair amount of Nelly Korda though. The world number one has fought hard to carve out a lead against Georgia Hall.

Here she is on the short 12th with a chance to put this match just about beyond her opponent. From a dozen feet. No. Right edge, stays up.

  9. Postpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Nordqvist A/S Thompson (14)

Lexi Thompson in all sorts of trouble on the back of the 14th green. She completely fluffs her first putt out of the longer grass but then knocks her second much closer.

Anna Nordqvist with a par putt to win the hole.

The Women's Open champion would normally expect to roll these into the cup in her sleep. But she misses and is then asked to knock in a two-footer back.

What a big opportunity missed. That's at least three today.

  10. Ewing back in the gamepublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Sagstrom v Ewing (13)

Ewing gets back in on the act as she wins her first hole since the fourth to reduce the gap to just a hole. Like so many matches right now the margin is pretty small, even if Europe are looking good this could yet swing in a few holes.

  11. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Pedersen v Kang (6)

Danielle Kang was looking to birdie to win the sixth but it's a long'un - well over 20ft.

It does not have the legs, and Pedersen is not quite as far out, and she confidently pops that in to halve the hole.

She is still one up ... and that is what counts!

  12. Khang smashing Popovpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Popov v Khang 5UP (7)

Megan Khang went three up with three birdies. She's been gifted the next two, with Sophia Popov posting bogeys.

We're not seeing any of this match. I guess there are closer contests to focus on.

  13. Get involvedpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

Are there any Americans reading this page?

About an hour ago, we asked you how confident you were feeling of a Europe victory. At last count, it was about 15-1 in favour of the women in yellow and blue.

Europe are now up in eight, the US leading in three and just the top match is all square.

This is only going one way right? Let's see how the confidence levels are now.

Thumbs up for Europe. Thumbs down for the US.

  14. Korda restores advantagepublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Hall v N Korda 2UP (11)

Shot. Nelly Korda. Short-iron into the 11th green, sets up another birdie chance.

Georgia Hall cannot get down in three, door ajar for the American, who strolls through to restore her two-hole lead.

  15. Maguire misses chance to go five aheadpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    4UP Maguire v Kupcho (12)

Collector's item folks. Leona Maguire has a six-foot birdie putt to win the 12th hole and misses.

Jennifer Kupcho has six holes to retrieve four shots.

  16. Reid cuts lead to twopublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Reid v Noh 2UP (6)

Noh in trouble on six and as she double bogeys Reid is able to card a bogey and still grab another hole back.

The lead has been havled now to just two as Reid shows he fighting qualities.

  17. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    Koerst Madsen A/S Ernst (8)

Nanna Koerst Madsen still playing very confidently after winning the seventh hole to add more blue to the leaderboard.

Austin Ernst is one of five Americans just one stroke down mind.

  18. Castren goes one up once morepublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Castren v Salas (8)

Lizette Salas has been so rock solid with her putts in the team stages, and starting out as the favourote probably for the US, her putter is letting her down. She misses a birdie putt to win the hole and take the lead.

Matilda Castren has no problems at all to birdie the par-five eighth hole and once more Europe turn that side of the leaderboard blue.

I feel like we should have a swingometer!

  20. Korda cuts Hull's leadpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 6 September 2021

    1UP Hull v J.Korda (6)

It's almost an identical miss from Hull as on the last hole, the stroke isn't good at all and this time the miss costs her the hole to lead by just one.

Again these two have to wait on the tee as two of the quicker players around they're raicng through the holes.
