"We both played so good and I am proud of myself and the team because it is not easy out there. The crowds are all against us and they don't really cheer for any good shots so we miss the European fans.

"The match we had in 2017 is one of the best in Solheim Cup history so I knew she was a tough player and she played fantastic today. You want to play a competitor who is playing well and I think we a re both happy with a tie. It was an honour to be put up first."

Testing time now for Castren as she had a 15ft+ putt for the birdie to tie the hole and just missed.

After a couple of missed chances for Hull, Korda makes her pay by winning the ninth hole and reducing the lead back down to just a single hole.

Hull's played better mostly but Korda is right in this.

Hang about - Danielle Kang birdies from about 8ft out, and she does what she does best, whipping up the watching crowd.

That birdie puts the anchor match all-square at the turn.
