  1. Morikawa back to 2UPpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    2UP Morikawa v Hovland (10)

Hovland has another stroke of bad fortne as his chips hits the hole but doesn't drop, that looked in all the way.

Morikawa, as he does, takes advantage to restore his two hole lead.

  2. State of playpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

At the start of play, Europe needed to win nine points to retain the Ryder Cup from the 12 singles matches.

As it stands, the US are leading in nine matches. Europe are up in three.

Seven of those matches only have one hole in it either way, but a huge turnaround needed.

  3. Rahm claws one backpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    3UP Scheffler v Rahm (12)

We said Scottie Scheffler was in a spot of bother, that was an understatement... he sticks an iron between some branches around waist height like a lumberjack about to fell his prey. Out pops a little white ball, running on across the green and the American can't find the hole from there.

Jon Rahm reduces the deficit to three once more.

  4. Fitz hits the frontpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Berger v Fitzpatrick 1UP (4)

There is not a lot of blue on the board at all, and the way it's going we're on for a record victory for the USA. This bottom match might be important after all in trying to avoid a record defeat.

Fitzpatrick moves in front at the fourth with a short putt - keeping the flag in as he likes to do does look a bit strange on these tiddlers but if it helps him get a point then crack on!

    English A/S Westwood (5)

This has been a topsy turvy match but for the moment it has levelled out after Harris English squared things up. However, with the current score well in the Americans' favour, it's unlikely to get this far...

All those one ups in the American's favour - if Europe are going to do this, they will need to reverse all of those.

    Schauffele v McIlroy 2UP (13)

What did we write 10 minutes or so ago about this match? Scratch that.

Rory McIlroy can't convert a mid-range putt, well probably longer than that, and Xander Schauffele reduces his arrears

    4UP Scheffler v Rahm (11)

Oooh.... it's a shock to see Scottie Scheffler miss a shot today, but he does on the par-three 12th as his iron from the tee drifts left into a spot of bother. Opening for Jon Rahm? Lovely tee shot from the world number one. Could pull a hole back here.

  9. Scheffler goes 4UPpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    4UP Scheffler v Rahm (11)

Some bunker facing Jon Rahm at 11, not sure he can even see over the top of it. The Spaniard does well to loft a wedge out and on to the dancefloor, although it then skids on.

Huge putt for the world number one, but it breaks left too early and wiggles beyond the cup.

Scottie Scheffler pops his birdie putt from the fringes wide, but the follow up disappears and Rahm can only stand with his arms folded as he glumly watches on.

  10. Garcia magicpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Iain Carter
Golf commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

Fair play to Garcia there - a little bit of magic - he chips in for a birdie.

Dechambeau must have been thinking it was all his, of course he doesn't miss.

    Hole halved in birdies.

    Marvellous stuff

    3UP DeChambeau v Garcia (10)

That's more like it from Sergio! Back to his scrambling best to chip one in from the fringes and make sure Bryson DeChambeau doesn't move further ahead.

  12. DJ back aheadpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP Johnson v Casey (8)

Johnson goes back in front as Team USA's oldest member (he's only 37!) continues his quest for a perfect five out of five.

  13. Postpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP Cantlay v Lowry (11)

Postage-stamp stuff from Shane Lowry at the 12th, finding the narrowest corridor of the green where the pin happens to be located around 10 feet away.

Meanwhile, Patrick Cantlay is up in the long stuff at the top of the ridge behind the green off the tee. He thrashes out and almost runs off the other end of the putting surface.

The American has a 60 footer for par and does not look to happy, he goes full gas, rolling another 12 feet or so past the pin. Hole conceded.

  14. State of playpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

It's not gettting any better if you're a European fan.

    US leads 7

    Europe leads 2

    Tied 3

  15. Hovland hits backpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP Morikawa v Hovland (9)

A rare miss from Morikawa as he pulls a short putt left of the hole for a half and Hovland pulls a hole back at the turn.

A ding-dong battle so far with a fast start from Hovland being countered by a strong spell by Morikawa. Pretty even but the American ahead.

  16. Birdie for Brooks Koepka turns leaderboard redpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP Koepka v Wiesberger (7)

What a drive from Brooks Koepka on the par three seventh hole, perched against the shores of Lake Michigan.

He sits pretty at about six-seven feet away from the pin. He des not miss his birdie putt from there - and not only have we lost the blue - it's turned red.

Colleagues often joke working abroad is a 'holiday'. Obviously, it isn't and there is LOADS of hard graft (honest, boss).

But walking on the shores of Lake Michigan in the sharp Wisconsin sun this weekend has felt like the sort of coastline you'd wander along on a well-earned break.

Turquoise water glistening, boats bobbing and waves crashing against the rocks. Feels like we're in the Med.

Despite the 24C temperature and stunning views, Team Europe aren't feeling at home and enjoying a relaxing time...

    2UP Cantlay v Lowry (11)

Steady stuff from Shane Lowry, who tides up for par from three feet after chipping back on at the 11th.

With Europe down in so many of the top games though it's not going to be enough.
