  1. Bryson pulls clearpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    3UP DeChambeau v Garcia (9)

Bryson DeChambeau is enjoying his week at Whistling Straits, and it keeps getting better. He locks his arms and rolls in a birdie putt to hit the turn three holes to the good over Sergio Garcia.

    Schauffele v McIlroy 3UP (12)

Rory McIlroy overclubs at the 12th with his ball zooming over the green into a grassy knoll at the back of the shortest hole at Whistling Straits.

He wafts a delicate chip back though and then tidies up for par to halve the hole.

Xander Schauffele has really not had much of a sniff. Yet.

    3UP Scheffler v Rahm (10)

Jon Rahm was met with a tricky lie after driving his tee shot through the green and he can only leave his second around 10n feet from the pin. Still a chance to win the hole and claw one back on Scottie Scheffler... but that never had the line. A stern stare from the world number one.

    2UP Morikawa v Hovland (8)

Morikawa was in a spot of bother on eight but he manages to sink his four-putt under pressure to halve the hole and stay 2UP.

  6. Casey levelspublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Johnson A/S Casey (7)

Tremendous up-and-down from Paul Casey at the seventh, as he dug out his chip with one foot almost hanging off a cliff above Lake Michigan, but he basically chops it out stone dead - sticks in the putt and walks off level.

  7. Lowry reduces his deficitpublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    2UP Cantlay v Lowry (10)

Look at those guns - Shane Lowry is getting all muscular after rolling in a hole-winning putt on the 10th from seven feet or so.

In fairness he has been knocking on the door for the last couple of holes.

Can someone find him a Rambo bandana?

    Koepka A/S Wiesberger (6)

On the par four sixth hole with a long-distance eagle putt, Brooks Koepka rolls past the hole and that leaves Bernd Wiesberger to match the eventual birdie - which he does, accompanied with a fiery fist-pump.

Maybe a tiny let off for the European and we remain all square in this encounter.

That sprint start Europe needed? Turning into a pedestrian pace.

McIlroy is doing his side of the bargain, but behind him Lowry and Rahm have both lost four holes in a row.

Next, Garcia has always been behind, while Hovland has also just lost a fourth hole on the bounce.

If things did stay like this - albeit there is a long way to go - then the 43rd Ryder Cup would be wrapped up by the fifth singles match.

That would leave seven matches out on the course with nothing riding on them.

    3UP Scheffler v Rahm (9)

Jon Rahm needs something down this back nine. Driving the green on 10 might do it... he does, and then some! It wriggles into the fringes at the back. Some effort.

  11. A new Ryder Cup record win?published at 19:37 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

The record Ryder Cup victory in the European era is 18½–9½.

The US achieved that in 1981 at Walton Heath.

Europe have done it twice, in consecutive wins at Oakland Hills in 2004 and the K Club in Ireland in 2006.

How you all feeling right now? Thumbs up if you think the US are going to set a new record today. Thumbs down for Europe to keep it closer.

    Finau v Poulter 1UP (5)

Ian Poulter still very much holding to his promise even if 'Posties' don't normally deliver on Sundays.

  13. Berger levelspublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Berger A/S Fitzpatrick (2)

Matt Fitzpatrick took the first but Daniel Berger answers right away to take the second and level. These bottom matches have a strange feel to them right now as the players kind of know that they'll probably be playing after the Ryder Cup has already been settled.

  14. McIlroy leads by threepublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Schauffele v McIlroy 3UP (11)

    Ooh that looks horrible.

Xander Schauffele in the greenside bunker on the 11th and his back swing impaired by a strip of earth.

The American opts for trying anything too adventurous turning away from the pin and playing back to the front of the green to give himself a par putt up the slope and ridge that will likely divert it right.

Rory McIlroy's birdie putt does exactly that racing on a few feet but a par will do nicely, with Schauffele's putt pulling up short.

  15. All-square againpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Koepka A/S Wiesberger (5)

No-one has managed to hold on to their advantage so far in this encounter between Brooks Koepka and Bernd Wiesberger.

We are back to all-square after the European concedes the fifth hole.

Hopefully plenty more to come in this match.

  16. State of playpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    Let's keep this simple.

    USA leads 7

    Europe leads 3

    Tied 2

    Not looking great.

  17. Spieth strikes firstpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP Spieth v Fleetwood (3)

Tommy Fleetwood makes a bit of a pig's ear of the par-three third hole, blazing a par putt well beyond the hole, and with Spieth sitting nicely after a good tee shot the Englishman just strides off the green and concedes the hole.

That's two matches quickly turning red on the board.

  18. DJ takes the leadpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    1UP Johnson v Casey (6)

Been a bit quiet this match but Johnson kicks it up a gear and wins the sixth to move ahead in his quest to win all five points this week.

  19. Postpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    2UP DeChambeau v Garcia (8)

Bryson DeChambeau gave himself a birdie chance at eight but couldn't take it, much to Sergio Garcia's relief. The pair come through with a couple of pars that leaves this one 2UP in the American's favour.

  20. Postpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 26 September 2021

    3UP Scheffler v Rahm (9)

Scottie Scheffler quickly stormed his way to 4UP through four holes in this match, before Jon Rahm pulled one back. The world number one hasn't been able to make any more dents in the American's lead though and Scheffler holds on to a three-hole advantage as they hit the turn.
