Xander hits the roadpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 15 July 2022
Schauffele -4 (14:59 BST)
Talor Gooch had to play from the road on 17 a bit earlier - just as Xander Schauffele had to yesterday...

Tiger Woods in emotional end to second round, will miss cut
Jonathan Jurejko, Paul Higham, Matt Gault and Ros Satar
Schauffele -4 (14:59 BST)
Talor Gooch had to play from the road on 17 a bit earlier - just as Xander Schauffele had to yesterday...
Poulter -4 (1)
Well now, if he did hear the boos on the tee, Ian Poulter's just delivered an emphatic response by draining a tramliner on the first to move to four-under!
Scheffler -7, Hatton -7, Niemann -2 (14)
Helloooo.... Tyrrell Hatton is very much in contention and the Englishman moves to one behind leader Cameron Young after a birdie at the par-five 14th.
It's his fifth birdie of the day, with no bogeys so far, and he joins playing partner and world number one Scottie Scheffler who pars to stay at seven under.
Poulter -3
"On the tee from England, Ian Poulter!"
For years, that announcement was met with hearty cheers at The Open, but for the last two days there has been a smattering of boos for LIV Golf's Poulter on the first tee.
It seemed to catch him off guard yesterday, snap-hooking his tee shot on the first before regrouping to card a 69.
During his post-round media duties yesterday, Poulter said he didn't hear any heckling out on the course.
I wonder if he heard them today...
People often say why the media always cover Tiger Woods more than some other golfers, even when he's not playing well.
Well, perhaps these pictures can help explain, as he's simply the biggest draw in golf, one of the biggest draws in all of sport...

Now, people like to scatter the ashes of their beloved at places they hold dear to them, so understandably the Old Course at St Andrews would be a prime spot for those relatives who had a love for golf.
As I was walking up the side of the 18th, one man took the opportunity to let what I believe must have been ashes into the burn. A tricky manoeuvre to pull off on the sly in the breeze, as the people standing next to him will tell you…
Dinwiddie -3 (4)
I wouldn't blame Robert Dinwiddie for being exhausted today. After all, his birdie putt on the 18th dropped into the cup at 22:10 BST last night.
It's a tight turnaround for the late-early side of the draw, and it's showing on the Englishman with bogeys on the second and fourth dropping the 39-year-old back to three-under.
There are still plenty of opportunities out there, of course.
Wise -5 (67)
Aaron Wise ends his round with a three and that sees him sign for a 67 and move to five under, which should be there or thereabouts at the end of the day even if the leaders increase their advantage.
-8 Cameron Young (13:26 BST)
-7 Talor Gooch (65)
-7 Dustin Johnson (14)
-7 Scottie Scheffler (13)
-6 Si Woo Kim (66)
-6 Adam Scott (14)
-6 Tyrrell Hatton (13)
-6 Rory McIlroy (14:59)
Spieth -4, Rahm -2, Varner III -2 (7)
Another fine putt from Jon Rahm, this time at the seventh as he cosies a 30-footer down by he hole.
Last year's US Open champion looked properly disgruntled at times yesterday, but he's playing mistake-free golf and looking much more chipper today.
Big chance for Jordan Spieth, no more than 12 feet I'd say. In it goes - and with good pace too, prompting a big roar from the gallery!
Harold Varner III picked up a birdie, too. All three players are three-under for the day and delighting the growing crowds around the Old Course.
Scheffler -7, Hatton -6, Niemann -1 (13)

Well I don't know if it was obvious to back Scheffler (for the Open). He missed the cut at PGA - I don't think I would have been jumping on the band wagon.
But now seeing where he is when he gets the bit in his mouth it is a completely different story - and he has shown that he can close.
Woods +7 (7)
The Tiger Woods fans are out here trying to do their bit to lift their hero as he struggles round St Andrews.
Gooch -7 (69)
Talor Gooch ends his round with a birdie after driving the 18th green, and it takes him to seven under and as it stands just one off the pace.
You suspect that he'll end the day further back than that but he's still in with a shout.
Woods +7, Fitzpatrick -2, Homa +3 (7)
Woods is still plugging away with a par on seven but it's very much a case of him just trying to get through this round now - maybe pick up a birdie or two just to give both himself and the crowd something to smile about.
It's a nice birdie for Matt Fitzpatrick, his third of the day, and gets him back to two under for the tournament.
D Johnson -7, Scott -6 (14)
Back on the 14th and Dustin Johnson is in for a birdie four and he's just one off the lead now.
Adam Scott is also picking up a shot to stay within one of his playing partner.

The TV pictures being beamed into the media centre suddenly focuses on two young girls clutching teddy bears. The youngest, she can barely be four years old, has dropped hers through a wire fence, out of reach. You sense tears are coming.
The action switches to Adam Scott's second on the 14th hole.
Then it cuts back to the girl. And a woman, I'm presuming mum, stretching and reaching and stretching some more to grasp the stranded bear. The golfing media draws its breath. A leg is caught. The bear retrieved. A smattering of applause ripples around the media centre. Beautiful scenes.

I think that Tiger really wants to be out here. He really likes being out here even with the knowledge that he is near the end of his career.
He wants to do this, but eventually it is going to sink in that he can't do it anymore - and when he gets to that point he won't do it.
Cantlay -5 (5)
Great start for Patrick Cantlay today as he's three under after just five holes to move on to five under for the tournament as the big guns start to lay down their challenge.
Casey -3 (14)
Paul Casey got it going early this morning with three birdies in his first six holes.
The back nine proved his nemesis yesterday and today's been a similar story, however, with dropped shots at 12 and 13 before bouncing back with a birdie at the par-five 14th.
Spieth -3, Rahm -2, Varner III -1 (6)
Ohhhh, that was a tremendous putt from Jordan Spieth. After an average wedge into the sixth, the 2017 champion's 30-footer is tracking. It looks good, but it just runs out of steam in front of the cup and shaves the right edge.
Jordan thought he had that one.
Now, can Jon Rahm find another one? Great effort, his birdie putt racing a few feet past. That was the stroke of a confident man (it was a much different story yesterday).
Three-under through six for the Spaniard.
