Anyone wondering about the how much we need to factor conditions into what we are seeing today...

  2. Birdies all roundpublished at 23:07 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Zalatoris -6, Pereira -7 (13)

    Zalatoris PereiraImage source, gett

Zalatoris cans an absolute monster from right across the 12th green to finally get a birdie on the card after playing that par five nicely.

After all his woes with the putter so far, that'll be a huge boost for him to sink that one with the previously malfunctioning flat stick.

Zalatoris grabs a share of the lead again, but only for a couple of minutes as Pereira answers right back with a birdie of his own!

    It's almost like matchplay here.

  3. Postpublished at 23:07 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    McIlroy E (14)

Rory McIlroy isn't out of this yet, despite his ragged play earlier in the round. He's on the 15th and firing from the centre of the fairway straight at the flag.

Another pin-seeker, this one pulls up about eight feet from the hole. A big birdie chance coming up.

  4. Thomas drops backpublished at 23:07 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Thomas -3, Watson -5 (13)

JT duffs his second over on the 13th and it costs him big time as he goes flag hunting but only succeeds in dumping his wedge into the greenside bunker with his third.

It doesn't get any better, with a 30-foot putt just to save par going awry.

Bubba Watson, who struggled out of the trees escapes with a par.

  5. Eagle timepublished at 23:02 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Young -5 (17)

There's a huge cheer out on the course and the camera turns to Cameron Young.

The American has driven the green on the par-four 17th and his eagle putt is never missing.

A big jump up to second on the leaderboard.

  6. Back-to-back birdies for Rorypublished at 22:57 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    McIlroy E, Ancer -3 (14)

Two on the bounce for Rory McIlroy!

This one a little tap-in birdie after a superb tee shot on the par-three 14th.

  7. Fitzpatrick scrambles to save parpublished at 22:56 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Fitzpatrick -4 (14)

    Well played Matt Fitzpatrick.

His ball fights with the wind and comes up well right off the 222-yard 14th, to leave a testy chip up a slope into the pin, which he only manages to knock to 11-12 feet.

In goes his par putt though. Ice-veined stuff.

  8. Birdie for McIlroypublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    McIlroy +1, Ancer -3 (13)

Rory McIlroy pulls one back! String a few birdies together down the straight and he's not completely out of it here... this one comes at the par-five 13th, finding the green in two and then two-putting for birdie. And he's got a great chance on the following par three, too...

  9. Postpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Thomas -4, Watson -5 (12)

Bubba Watson well out of position on the 13th playing hide and seek in the trees. He's fortunate to get a swing from there almost leaning back into a trunk to chip himself back on to the fairway.

He'll need to be on the money with his approach to save par.

  10. Bogey cuts Pereira's lead to onepublished at 22:50 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Zalatoris -5, Pereira -6 (12)

Pereira is back on the bogey train after his approach flies off the back of the green, and his chip back up the putting surface just digs in on the first bounce and all the pace comes out of it.

It leaves a testing putt, which looks good all the way but just comes up short and it's a fourth bogey in five holes to slice his lead down to just one.

Solid par for Zalatoris who tries to trickle his birdie putt in but it just tumbles down the hill and rests just next to the cup.

  11. Another missed chance for Thomaspublished at 22:44 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Thomas -4, Watson -5 (12)

Another birdie chance slips by for Justin Thomas on the 12th. The American is having one of those days where is putter is running almost as cold as the Tulsa weather.

Bubba Watson scrambles out of the sand. Both get the same result. Par.

  12. Postpublished at 22:39 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Zalatoris -5, Pereira -7 (11)

Pars for both on the par-three 11th to just steady the ship somewhat after an eventful few holes.

It's not great on the 12th tee for Pereira though as he sprays his drive into the rough, he may still be a bit rattled by his bogey run.

  13. Fitzpatrick closes inpublished at 22:38 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Fitzpatrick -4 (13)

Matt Fitzpatrick zings his second onto the green at the 13th. His driving has been from stellar but his short game and putting has been in great nick.

A long eagle putt incoming to potentially move him up into a tie for second.

It's almost 50 feet but that's a great line from the Englishman...go on, go on. Doh. It crawls down to 11 inches and pulls up before reaching the cup. Still a birdie and up into a tie for fourth will do very nicely.

He's just three off the lead now.

  14. McIlroy misses birdie chancepublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    McIlroy +2, Ancer -3 (12)

That's more like it from Rory McIlroy, a booming drive and tickled approach to four feet. This to pull one of those many dropped shots back... oh my. Rory can't help but have a disgruntled chuckle to himself. An absolute sitter slides by and he has to settle for par.

  15. Postpublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Thomas -4, Watson -5 (11)

Bubba Watson and Justin Thomas both in 20-22 feet territory after pitching on to the 11th.

JT has a left-to-right read that he doesn't start far enough out seeing it curl inwards well before the cup.

A steady two putts for both so it's as you were basically.

  16. Power leads in the clubhousepublished at 22:32 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Power -3 (67)

    Seamus PowerImage source, Getty Images

Stunning finish from Seamus Power with four birdies in his closing seven holes sending him racing up the leaderboard and into contention.

At three under Power grabs the clubhouse lead and right now he's only four off the lead and nobody out in front is exactly ripping it up today.

Power will be heavily involved tomorrow, and it may yet get better for him in the next couple of hours.

  17. Bogey hat-trick for Pereirapublished at 22:27 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Zalatoris -5, Pereira -7 (10)

Pereira can't find the cup with his putt, which is a dangerous one down the hill, so he drops back to seven under after three straight bogeys.

He's just wobbling all of a sudden now having been just a bit too aggressive in recent holes, when a bit more of a safety-first approach would've been better.

Zalatoris finally finds a putt to convert his sand save and stay on five under - which is now just two shots off the lead.

  18. Postpublished at 22:26 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Fitzpatrick -3 (12)

It feels like Matt Fitzpatrick has been bobbing around at three under all day and slowly climbing the leaderboard as others falter.

The Englishman has a long birdie putt on the 12th that he knocks to around six inches. Another par on a day when pars are proving extremely valuable.

  19. Bunkeredpublished at 22:23 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Zalatoris -5, Pereira -8 (9)

It's a sand save competition on 10 as both Zalatoris and Pereira find the bunker in front of the green when just trying to get too cute with this front flag.

Zalatoris wins by knocking his effort much closer, but we've seen him putt today so don't mark it down as a sand save just yet.

  20. Postpublished at 22:22 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Power -3 (17)

It's another birdie for the Irishman on 17 and suddenly at three under he's tied for sixth and on course to grab the clubhouse lead.
