That 65 on Thursday seems a dim and distant memory for Rory McIlroy who is back among the also-rans.
McIlroy -1, Ancer -4 (7)
He may have avoided the water but Rory McIlroy cannot salvage par as his putt races past the cup.
Three dropped shots in two holes for the Northern Irishman, who is trending in the wrong direction. He's now nine off the lead.
Abraham Ancer also drops a shot and is back to four under.
Zalatoris -6, Pereira -10 (6)
Oh dear - it's another short putt missed by Zalatoris that again doesn't even find a piece of the cup and just slides wide of the target.
Pereira makes no mistake though on a putt that was shorter but had much more movement on it. He now leads by four!
The Chilean just looks unflappable at the moment, as Zalatoris is looking exactly the opposite.
Fitzpatrick -2 (7)
They are just horrible. Matt Fitzpatrick has a seven-foot putt for par on the seventh but sees it hit the back of the cup and skip out.
A touch less pace on that required.
McIlroy -2, Ancer -5 (6)
Rory McIlroy appears to have come to rest on a drain cover, that might have saved him another dip in the drink... he toils over a free drop and then manages to coax a chip on to the smooth stuff.
Crisis averted, sort of.
Zalatoris -7, Pereira -10 (5)
Just in case you're wondering how good this Mito Pereira is....he's good!

Zalatoris -7, Pereira -10 (5)
Zalatoris sprays his tee ball well right of the green on the brute of a par three - but his recovery chip right across the green is a nice one that settles pretty tight to the flag.
Pereira's tee shot hit the front bunker, but my word what a lovely escape it is as he plays the perfect chunk and run with the minimum of fuss.

That water is quite a way off target on the seventh so it was a complete miscue from Rory. He needs to take a deep breath and just get the ball in the middle of a couple of greens.
McIlroy -2, Ancer -5 (6)
Oh no! Rory McIlroy looked to have struck his approach from the light rough well enough, it was a decent lie, but the camera panned towards the water down the right of the seventh and there was an unnerving gasp from the crowd as it dropped... this could be a second successive hole in the drink.
Thomas -5, Watson -5 (6)
Bubba Watson's sand wedge is working like a charm.
The American lands his tee shot on the sixth deep in the front right bunker but then clips it to a few inches to save par.
Justin Thomas is looking pretty miffed mind after taking three with his putter for bogey.
Rose +2 (71)
Justin Rose hovered around par or just above on the first two days and he concludes his third round in the same fashion as a birdie putt pulls up short to see him scribble a 71 onto his scorecard.
Fleetwood E (15)
Tommy Fleetwood is gathering momentum but could be running out of holes to make an impression near the top of the leaderboard.
Superb approaches on 12 and 13 and a putt from downtown on 15 have seen him pick up three birdies in four holes to combat being two over on the front nine.
Can he finish this round with a flourish to put himself into the mix on Sunday?
Zalatoris -7, Pereira -10 (5)
It's another birdie for Pereira after a textbook run down the par-five fifth hole, curling in a putt from six feet or so to get to 10 under and lead by three.
Zalatoris makes sure it's just the three by knocking in a short one for par, but that big putter of his doesn't look smooth at all on these tiddlers does it?
McIlroy -2, Ancer -5 (6)
Abraham Ancer backs up that birdie with a par at six, Rory McIlroy has work to do though after finding the water - he has to drop in front of the creek, leaving 80+ yards into the flag, and ends up with a 30-footer for bogey. That doesn't drop, so it's double trouble for the Northern Irishman.
Thomas -6, Watson -5 (5)
Bubba Watson finds the sand not once but twice on the long par-five fifth.
It's no bother though when you can splash out of a greenside bunker to within seven feet of the pin and roll in. That's a great par-saving up and down.
Justin Thomas has a birdie putt from the left fringe after pulling his second. The American fancies this but pushes past. Never looked like dropping that. Par it is.
Fitzpatrick -3 (6)
Matt Fitzpatrick is in the groove.
He takes a line straight at the pin from the tee and drops an iron into around 17 feet despite the swirling conditions which have made this the hardest hole on the course today. He leaves the pin in and rolls into the cup with his flat stick for back-to-back birdies.
How's that leaderboard looking?

We always hope Rory makes a birdie before a bogey to get that momentum going.
It's in his character to try and bounce back with two or three birdies in a row rather than wait and know it will come back later down the line.
McIlroy -4, Ancer -5 (5)
A long wait for Rory McIlroy and Abraham Ancer at the par-three sixth on this congested spot on the course.
Ancer's had a while to think about this tee shot and opts for a wood that he's not impressed with, shaking his head albeit finding the green.
It's immensely better than McIlroy's effort, mind... the Northern Irishman finishes with one hand on the club and leaks it left, running on down towards the water. That's wet. A spot of bother for the four-time major champion.

If Zalatoris gets one birdie he'll be up and running. He's not quite decided if he wants to be on the offensive yet. Once he sorts that out, he'll be fine.
Hatton +2 (6)
Tyrrell Hatton finds the drink again this time at the par-three sixth to run up a double. Have his hopes of a tilt at the title already met a watery end?
