  2. Rahm running out of holespublished at 22:27 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Bradley -1, Rahm E (13)

The holes are running out for defending champion Jon Rahm to post the sort of score that could apply a bit of pressure to those playing behind him.

After a bogey on 12 he has the chance to bounce straight back from 15 feet but can't convert once again from mid range.

  3. Zalatoris drops a shotpublished at 22:23 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Fitzpatrick -4, Zalatoris -5 (12)

Will Zalatoris spins his ball off the front with his third.

Big effort to save par from here. But what an attempt, the American nudges his ball up a good 30 feet plus up towards the hole and almost sinks his putt.

Only the one shot dropped for the world number but Matt Fitzpatrick's birdie attempt doesn't reach.

  4. Postpublished at 22:22 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Scheffler -4 (13)

It's more steady golf from Scheffler here with an easy par in the end - you can tell those bogeys rattled him and he just wants to play par golf for a while.

We're at a point in the tournament for the top three on the leaderboard that if you par in from here you will likely win the tournament. History tells us that.

  6. Impressive 65 for Matsuyamapublished at 22:20 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Matsuyama -3 (65)

The final birdie putt is too much to ask of Hideki Matsuyama.

It was a lengthy one and in the end it's a two-putt to close on a par. That's an impressive 65 - the lowest round of the weekend so far - which will have significantly boosted his pay day.

He's sat fourth currently, which is worth $859,032 (£700,000).

Caddie Billy Foster hasn't won a major and he's going to have put in some work with his man if they're going to get across the line here. But well done Matt Fitzpatrick with that drive on the 12th.

  8. Postpublished at 22:17 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Fitzpatrick -4, Zalatoris -6 (11)

Will Zalatoris finds the second cut of rough on the 12th. Far from ideal at all. He's not dropped a shot since the third but that looks buried.

He's going to have a hack at this and he does well to get it out to the middle of the fairway, taking a huge chunk of earth with his ball.

Matt Fitzpatrick talks to his ball as he hits his second, "get down" he says as it lands on the front of the green. He could maybe have done with that hanging a tad more.

  9. Postpublished at 22:11 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Matsuyama -3 (17)

Hideki Matsuyama's tee shot on the 18th pin-balled off a fan or two before finding an alright lie on the walkway.

It looks like everyone is ok thankfully. Can he sneak in one more birdie before he finishes up?

  10. Settler for Schefflerpublished at 22:10 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Scheffler -4 (12)

It's a settler for Scheffler - try saying that fast five times!

Scheffler threw away five shots in four holes around about this part of his round yesterday so he'll be keen to just get through these as best he can.

  11. Zalatoris leads outrightpublished at 22:08 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Fitzpatrick -4, Zalatoris -6 (11)

Will Zalatoris pumps his fist as the gallery on the 11th let out a huge cheer. The American drops in a 17 footer for birdie to move to six under.

Matt Fitzpatrick, whose ball is on the same line scoots in for a look at the read but pushes his left to huge gasps....it's almost four feet past.

There's a bit of pressure on this putt and the Englishman doesn't handle it at all as he fails to save his par.

A two-shot swing and possibly a big turning point?

  12. Par again for McIlroypublished at 22:08 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    McIlroy E, Burns +3 (13)

The birdie door was open the slightest of cracks for Rory McIlroy on the 13th.

He has a good go of it from all the way over on the other side of the green and it curls round agonisingly close but, crucially, doesn't drop in.

That's McIlroy's last few holes in a nutshell. He stays on level par.

  13. Rahm and Bradley pull backpublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Bradley -1, Rahm -1 (11)

Up on the 11th a cheer goes up as Jon Rahm signals he's not quite done yet, rolling in his first birdie of the day from 13 feet.

Keegan Bradley can't miss his birdie putt after a sublime tee shot to two feet.

  14. Fitzpatrick loses outright leadpublished at 21:59 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Fitzpatrick -5, Zalatoris -5 (10)

Superb recovery from Matt Fitzpatrick. He splashes out and sees his ball slowly roll down towards the hole.

He'll be left with a trickly left-to-right to salvage his par, which he misses...

Zalatoris' putt up the slope is light of pace - the American makes a par but now shares the lead.

  15. 66 for Morikawapublished at 21:58 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Morikawa -2 (66)

What if Collin Morikawa's Saturday hadn't gone quite so awry?

That will surely play on the American's mind tonight. He finishes off a round of 66 - which he also scored on Friday - but after a 77 yesterday he ends the weekend on two under overall.

  16. Postpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

A bit of a matchplay situation may arise between Fitzpatrick and Zalatoris but they have to remember Scheffler is still around.

Will Zalatoris has 190 yards into the pin on the 10th. What can he do here?

The American whips through his shot and sees his ball zoom towards the green, to leave him with 20 footer or so for birdie.

Matt Fitzpatrick's in bother as he dunks his second into the left bunker. A chink of light for Zalatoris?

  18. Par for McIlroypublished at 21:53 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    McIlroy E, Burns +1 (12)

It would be nice if Rory McIlroy treated us to a run of birdies at some point on the back nine just for a bit more excitement.

He comes to within a couple of feet of kicking that off on the 12th but it's just another par.

  19. Rahm's struggles continuepublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Bradley E, Rahm E (10)

Jon Rahm's day goes from bad to worse on the 10th.

A fan shouts 'not today Rahm' as he slides a six-foot par-saving putt left.

The Spaniard doesn't look best pleased. He and his playing partner Keegan Bradley are both six strokes off the pace.

  20. Another bogey for Schefflerpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 19 June 2022

    Scheffler -4 (11)

The 11th is playing just 108 yards today but my word it's a tough little par three to navigate with a front left pin, plenty of breeze and some naughty little borrows in the green.

Scheffler does OK with the tee shot, a little long but his birdie putt settles five feet away so should be no problem....WAIT, HE'S MISSED IT!

You'd have put your house on him making that, but it's a second bogey in a row for the Masters champion.
