Two-time Women's Open winner Jiyai Shin has played this round largely with beaming smiles and she tries to finish off with a birdie - a confident rap just sends it beyond the cup.

One bogey, three birdies in total and she finishes in sole third place - for now.

Here comes Charley Hull, after that booming drive she's bumped in a lovely iron shot to leave here no more than 15 feet for an eagle.

Charley Hull launches a bomb down the 16th fairway as she looks to put some late pressure on the previously solid Lilia Vu.

  4. Korda finishes with putting woespublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Korda -2 (74)

Not sure that Nelly Korda will be leaving Walton Heath with fond memories.

She had one bogey on the front nine but started and finished the back nine with bogeys. Just one birdie today for the world number one.

I suspect that putter might be quietly buried in the heather later this evening.

  5. A pair of bogeyspublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -8, Vu -12 (15)

Lilia Vu makes an error with a short iron in hand and the ball topples into the bunker on the short side, but there's hardly any face on this sand trap and she sticks it close with her fourth shot before knocking in her bogey putt.

Charley Hull has a chance to close the gap but misses her short par putt.

So both of the leaders drop a shot and Vu's lead stays at four with just three holes to play.

  6. Heather trouble for the leaderpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -13 (14)

Full heather problems for Lilia Vu as she sprays her tee shot left - and anyone who has ever played out of that stuff knows you just can't take any chances even if it looks like you can get the ball out easily.

So it's just a chop out back to the fairway from the American.

Charley Hull goes for it but blows her approach way over the flag and just off the back of the green, so she'll need some short game magic just to save par.

  7. Four up with four to playpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -13 (14)

Hit it Charley! Hull's birdie putt doesn't have the wheels and as it slows down it takes the break and misses the target.

That means Lilia Vu stays four shots in front with four holes to play.

  8. Shin up to thirdpublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Shin -7 (16)

Jiyai Shin has been quietly going about her business, pretty much always with a huge smile on her face. She just misses out on a fantastic eagle opportunity, but she will happily take a birdie on 16 to take sole ownership of third spot.

  9. Postpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -13 (13)

Lilia Vu has some issues with her backswing due to the heather but no problem with the connection in the end as she sticks it on the green 25 feet away - the way she's been putting that's a nailed-on par.

Charley Hull is a bit closer but it's still that mid-to-long range that she's not managed to hole from yet today.

Charley Hull walked past the Women's Open trophy at the start of her round today.

Unless something special happens in the last few holes, it will be slightly out of her grasp at the end of the tournament.

    Hull -9, Vu -13 (13)

Nice little bounce for our leader who tugs her tee shot left on 14, but Lilia Vu is relieved to see the ball dive into the heather but then just sneak out and into a decent spot.

That was a foot or so from being a real problem.

    Kim HJ -6, Yin -4 (14)

Hyo Joo Kim is looking for a birdie on 14th hole and the ball just breaks right of the cup.

It is a hefty looking birdie putt for Angel Yin, close to 20 feet away, and she comes close, but it is fair to say there won’t be a thrilling play-off for the American against her countrywoman Lilia Vu this time.

  13. Vu staying strongpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -13 (13)

If Charley Hull or anyone else is waiting for Lilia Vu to drop a shot then they'll be waiting for a while - there's not even a hint of her cracking as she produces another solid two-putt par.

If someone wants this Women's Open they're going to have to come and get it off her, and Hull can't close the gap with a par of her own on 13.

The lead is four with five holes to play.

Angel Yin finds a bunker on the right hand side - aptly on the unlucky 13th hole.

She has been good at getting out of the bunkers - and she splashes out around eight feet from the hole. Oh, it's too aggressive as she skirts over the cup and it will be another dropped shot.

Better luck for Hyo Joo Kim - she finds the green as she tries to resurrect her luck in the last few holes.

Oh it’s another one of those committed raps of the ball for Kim as it comes to rest alongside. A tap in for par. On we go.

  15. Stone cold from Vupublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -13 (12)

Lilia Vu is determined to do a Brian Harman here - and just as he did at Hoylake, she's answered right away after having her lead cut.

The drive was perfect and the approach deadly - and quick as a flash all that momentum Charley Hull had built up was drained out of her in stone cold fashion.

  16. Postpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -12 (11)

Bizarre scenes on the 12th as Lilia Vu manages to outdrive Charley Hull off the tee!

It obviously came as a shock to Hull to be going first as she bombed her approach off the back of the green while Vu has stuck it in almost stone dead. Big birdie chance coming up.

  17. Kim and Yin bogey againpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -6, Yin -5 (12)

Hyo Joo Kim has no issues in getting up to the green, but lying third and five shots behind, it needed to be a lot better. Her long putt from the edge of the green gets her pretty close, but not close enough, about three to four feet to save par.

Oh my! This is a real rollercoaster for Kim as she misses and drops back with a bogey for a tie for third.

Things don't go much better for Angel Yin either - she misses her par putt and drops well off the pace now.

  18. Lead down to three...published at 16:55 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -12 (11)

Lilia Vu can only par the 11th so all of a sudden the lead is down to three - that's still a nice lead but it doesn't feel anywhere near as comfortable right now.

Charley Hull is almost bouncing off to the next tee, with fist bumps and high-fives for anyone who wants one in the crowd.

Could we still see some drama down the stretch?

  19. What a shot for eagle!published at 16:50 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -9, Vu -12 (11)

Things were going from bad to worse for Charley Hull, but she's pulled an incredible shot out of the hat as she holes out from the bunker for eagle!

Hull was right up against the face for what looked as tough as they come in terms of escapes from the sand, but she's played it perfectly as the ball drops softly and just rolls into the cup.

That could be just what Hull, and the home crowd, needed.

  20. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -12 (10)

Charley Hull absolutely nails her drive on the 11th with plenty of venom in that one, but her second shot on the par five ends up in a bunker.
