  1. Vu five ahead as Kim and Yin go backwardspublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -7, Yin -6 (11)

Lilia Vu is looking more and more like being the Women's Open champion here, as her fellow competitors continue to falter.

Hyo Joo Kim hits her second shot on the 11th but she looks up in annoyance straight away as her ball clips a spectator. He looks to be ok though as the ball bounces into the rough.

Angel Yin is in the heather, again, and she goes from rough to... rough. Ouch. She has to get herself over a bunker - and she does but the ball just keeps on running, past the apron and nestles into that greenside rough.

Back to Kim in even more rough for her third shot and she chips it out to the apron in front of the green.

Yin makes the best of her position - not the easiest of lies and she ends up maybe around six feet away.

Hang about - an easy-looking putt for par is perhaps a tad too aggressive - another bogey for Kim.

Yin steps up for hers and no way! It horse-shoes around the cup. Bogeys all round.

  2. Two-shot swing!published at 16:37 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -12 (10)

That's another heartbreaker for Charley Hull with a birdie putt on 10 just running out of steam and falling away right at the death.

Hull gives it a nasty wave in the first show of frustration so far today - with her mood not helped by Lilia Vu then rolling in her birdie try to go to 12 under and a four-shot lead.

    Hull now five shots back.

  4. Vu back to three in frontpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -11 (9)

Lilia Vu pours in a second birdie of the day on the par-three ninth after a beautiful tee shot and she calmly restores her three-shot lead.

Vu has been so solid today, hardly missing a shot and certainly not missing a putt. She turns in 33, two under, for her front nine.

Charley Hull is four behind with another long-range putt just curling across and away from the hole and resulting in another par - and she's yet to pick up a birdie today as she turns two over for the day.

  5. Chance missed for Kimpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -8, Yin -7 (10)

Hyo Joo Kim knocks her second shot on the 10th over the path and up onto the green, and she has another great birdie chance of around 15 feet.

Angel Yin ends up with another long birdie putt from a little over 20 feet. It is just a little too much work for her though, leaving her to tap in for a par.

Kim also has an uphill putt, and will she cut the gap to one if she makes it... no. The ball just halts stubbornly at the side of the cup. Kim taps it in for par - chance missed.

  6. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -10 (8)

No shortage of support at Walton Heath for Charley Hull today.

Admiring the pun on this sign...

It doesn't quite work on the eighth though as Hull has another near miss with a birdie putt.

  7. Birdies all round as Kim cuts Vu's lead to twopublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -8, Yin -7 (9)

Nothing like a bit of momentum is there - a beautiful strike from Hyo Joo Kim from the tee on the par-three eighth and she is comfortably on the green as the ball rests around seven feet away.

Angel Yin sends a beautifully-paced putt up the hill which just creeps towards the hole and disappears from view - a first birdie of the day for Yin.

Anything you can do, says Kim, as she knocks hers in with a lot more vim and vigour - birdies all around but more importantly Lilia Vu's lead is down to two.

  8. Corpuz finishes wellpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Corpuz -4 (69)

A mighty fine finish for Allisen Corpuz, who is the clubhouse leader on four under.

After going out in even par, the US Women's Open champion came home in 34 for a three-under 69.

It could have been better but a long birdie try on the last pulls up just short.

She's in a tie for eighth at the moment and it's likely to be another solid finish in a major for the 25-year-old.

  9. Kim birdies to move within three of leaderpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -7, Yin -6 (8)

Angel Yin finds the first cut on the eighth but has a decent lie. She finds the green and rolls to just over 20 feet. She has a decent amount of pace up the hill but it isn't quite enough.

Hyo Joo Kim's second shot plays leapfrog over Yin's ball to about 15 feet and it's a birdie as Kim's roller-coaster of a round continues.

Back up she goes into a tie for second with Charley Hull.

  10. Lead stays at threepublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -10 (7)

No change in the lead as they both par the seventh - Lilia Vu is looking rock solid you have to say, and Charley Hull just hasn't been able to put any pressure on as yet.

    Long way to go though...

  11. Postpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -6, Yin -6 (7)

Angel Yin drives but veers off the short stuff and into the fluffier rough. Hyo Joo Kim follows with a near identical drive.

Yin is first to try to deal with the wind and the ball touches the green and then scuttles off it just as quickly. She chips out and past the hole, with Kim watching on.

Yin makes it three pars in a row and Kim gets herself back on track as they continue to contend with the breeze.

  12. Pars on the sixthpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -10 (6)

The sixth is a meaty par five with even Charley Hull unable to get anywhere near the green in two and she's also unable to get close enough with her third to make a birdie.

It's a tough hole for Lilia Vu but she makes a par again with very little fuss.

  13. Another bogey for Kimpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -6, Yin -6 (6)

Hyo Joo Kim has had yet more bunker nonsense to contend with. Uphill into the breeze and she goes pin hunting with her third shot. Middle of the green, her caddy says, but it runs on to the back edge of the green, just nestling into the rough cut at the back.

Actually this is an awful lie, she takes a blade to try to knock it out of the fluff. She gives it a decent knock to get it away, but on it runs.

She hits the par putt with great pace but it just flirts with the cup, and then rolls past. It's another bogey.

Two very good shots for Angel Yin though - no sand for her this time - and she opens up the green nicely for a putt inside 15 feet for a birdie. She completely commits to it, but it slides right. She will par but it might actually feel like a dropped shot to her.

  15. Lip-out for Hullpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -10 (5)

A big lip-out for Charley Hull from about 30 feet away on the fifth green - not really sure how that ball failed to drop but she's denied a birdie and stays three behind.

Lilia Vu is just calmness personified as she makes her three from a tricky spot.

  16. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -7, Yin -6 (5)

Everybody wants to play in the sand today!

Angel Yin on the par-three fifth takes an aggressive line. Too aggressive it appears, as she rolls into the greenside bunker to the right.

She plays a textbook shot out of the bunker and rolls out nicely to about four feet. No problem there for a par.

Hyo Joo Kim has a putt up the hill from the edge of the green but her aim is amiss as the ball slopes away a few feet to the side. She putts nice and safely for par and on they go.

  17. Hull drops three backpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -7, Vu -10 (4)

Charley Hull can't dig her way out of trouble on the fourth - she can't drain a huge par putt and that's a second bogey of the day to slip three shots behind Vu in the lead.

  18. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Vu -10 (4)

The top 13 players started within five shots of each other at the start of today's play, but Lilia Vu is the only one of them currently under par for their final round.

She stays that way by knocking yet another putt from the four-foot range.

  19. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Hull -8, Vu -10 (3)

More bother for Charley Hull on the fourth, finding the heather off the tee then a nasty spot well short and she has to just punch it forward - just clearing a bunker and finding the green but with a lengthy putt to try to save par.

  20. Bogeys for both Kim and Yinpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 13 August 2023

    Kim HJ -7, Yin -6 (4)

Angel Yin hits her second shot into the heather on the fourth - she opts to chop it out and just get it back in play. Very wise.

It's another long 20-footer at least for par, but no, it slides to the left and it is another dropped shot for the American.

Hyo Joo Kim has no such issue as she drove nicely onto the fairway but oh no - she finds the greenside bunker.

She is not having much luck in the sand as she is right up against the face and she opts to avoid the hokey-cokey one leg in, one leg out option. She gets the ball out, but on to the greenside rough. That pesky sand leaves her with a bogey as well and she drops back to three behind.
