    Rose v Cantlay 1UP (16)

Justin Rose yet again shows his skills on the putting green as he cans an 18-footer to send the crowd around the 16th green wild again - it's only for a half, but against a man in form such as Cantlay this is a tremendous effort from the oldest man in the Ryder Cup this year.

He also topped the putting stats after two days though. Cantlay remains one up with two to play.

Everyone wants a piece of Rory McIlroy as he marches off the 15th with at least half a point in the bag.

But as he’s three up with three to play most of those around the Marco Simone are expecting another blue square on the board.

    Aberg v Koepka 3UP (13)

The red wall is still holding up in the heartland of the Sunday singles.

A few European nerves might be jangling if the home side can't seal it before entering that territory.

Ludvig Aberg claws a hole back against Brooks Koepka, who leads the group of American resistance.

But Koepka responds by winning the 13th and restoring his commanding three-hole lead.

    2UP MacIntyre v Clark (8)

Wyndham Clark finally wins a hole on the eighth to cut Robert MacIntyre's lead down to two holes as they near the turn. The Scotsman got a bad lie in the rough and could only hack it up the fairway, giving Clark the chance to win it with a par in the end.

  6. McIlroy guarantees halfpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    3UP McIlroy v Burns (15)

Here we go then... Sam Burns to stay in this match.

That is clutch. The American knows exactly what matchplay is all about and drops his birdie putt from 12 feet.

Over to you, Rory McIlroy... got his birdie too!

McIlroy shakes a clenched fist as he marches off to the 16th tee with a three-hole lead.

    You can do the maths.

  8. A knockout blow from Hatton?published at 14:36 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    3UP Hatton v Harman (13)

Brian Harman and Tyrrell Hatton both hit nice shots into the par-three 13th, but while the left-hander misses from 12 feet, the Englishman makes no mistake from about 10 feet to go three ahead.

There's no wild celebrations here though, Hatton has been largely calm and focused all day.

  9. Straka pulls hole backpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Straka v Thomas 1UP (11)

Europe have got the momentum right now and Sepp Straka is eating away at Justin Thomas' lead.

A fine 14-foot birdie putt converted and Thomas misses from 10.

    Down to just one up.

    3UP McIlroy v Burns (14)

Where's the next European point coming from?

Rory McIlroy would be the obvious choice and especially when he does things like this on the 15th.

After Sam Burns lands his approach about 12 feet away, McIlroy does not blink and raises the stakes.

    How about eight feet?

Who dares wins, Rory. And if Burns misses then he's got a shot at the win.

  11. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Fitzpatrick v Homa 1UP (14)

Dynamite long putt from Matt Fitzpatrick as he takes aim from 50 feet on the 14th hole.

It's not in, but it's a gimme and makes Max Homa's 20-footer for birdie all the trickier.

Homa can't sink it, they halve the hole and he stays at just one up.

  12. Rose goes bananaspublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Rose v Cantlay 1UP (15)

Justin Rose, the veteran of this European team, the calm old head among all these excitable youngsters... Is nothing of the sort as he rolls in a birdie on 15 to cut the gap back to one again behind Patrick Cantlay.

The Englishman goes ballistic after sinking that - yes, there's a bit of a dad dancing at a wedding vibe in the wild celebrations from the 42-year-old, but the European fans don't care as they join him or getting suitable rowdy when that ball drops.

  13. Rahm earns Europe a vital halfpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Rahm v Scheffler A/S (F)

Scheffler can't drop in his chip from the side of the 18th green and that hands over the final hole to Rahm.

Half a point to Europe. A huge stride to the Ryder Cup!

Europe move 12-6 ahead - two and a half more will do it.

  14. Fleetwood chips in from bunkerpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    1UP Fleetwood v Fowler (9)

As Scottie Scheffler lines up that chip, he can just hear the echoes of "Tommy, Tommy Tommy, Tommy Tommy Fleetwood" and well might the European fans be cheering back on the ninth.,

With Rickie Fowler in close on the par five, Fleetwood finds some wizardry to hole out from fthe greenside bunker.

Brilliant from Fleetwood - and he's got himself ahead.

  15. Xander from rangepublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Hojgaard v Schauffele 1UP (10)

Xander Schauffele edged in front again of Nicolai Hojgaard courtesy of a 22-foot putt - with the Dane unable to hole out from just a foot or so nearer.

Once again in the Ryder Cup it's the putter that does the damage.

  16. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Rahm v Scheffler 1UP (17)

What a scene this will be if Rahm lands this 90-foot eagle putt...

He doesn't but a phenomenal effort leaves Scheffler needing to chip in for the win.

  17. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Rahm v Scheffler 1UP (17)

Scheffler comes on first with his third shot on the par-five 18th - he's gone on the attack.

His ball races down the slope and needs the rough to act as a buffer before the water.

  18. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    3UP McIlroy v Burns (14)

Oh my! This would have seen Rory McIlroy take a huge stride towards sealing the match.

McIlroy, from downtown for birdie, keeps in the flagstick and his pacy putt clunks the metal.

Pars apiece on the 14th means McIlroy leads by three with four to play.

  19. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    2UP Hatton v Harman (12)

Tyrrell Hatton just summing up kind of how it's going for Europe as he hits his seven-footer just by the right edge but failing to make it drop.

That was for the win that would've put him three in front, but the lead stays at two in a match Europe desperately need looking at the scoreboard - there's an awful lot of red on there.

  20. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 1 October 2023

    Rahm v Scheffler 1UP (17)

    Whooosh!

Scottie Scheffler has a wood out even though his lie isn't the best in the second cut of rough and absolutely wallops it.

    He's birdie hunting.

Scheffler ends up juts short of the bunker on the right and has an open invite into the flag.

Over to Rahm... another lovely strike but not quite the legs to gallop on to the green.

    Anyone's game.
