Jockey Daryl Jacob, who was in tears yesterday after just missing out on the Pertemps Hurdle in a photo finish on Southfield Theatre, was all smiles after winning the Vincent O'Brien County Handicap Hurdle on the Paul Nicholls-trained Lac Fontana.

Jacob told Racing UK: "I'm happy to get over the line. You always have to look forward to the next race. Maybe later in the night you can look back on things, but we're always looking forward. I'm hungry for more now."

There are some who like to follow AP McCoy at Cheltenham, and he's on Captain Cutter for this next race. AP has been in the saddle for Captain Cutter's last three races, all of them victories. The seven-year-old is third-favourite at eights.

As Frank notes below, the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle is our next race at 14:40. Briar Hill, who has had that late change of rider, remains the 15/8 favourite. That's absolutely no surprise because he has an unblemished record of six wins from six. And convincing victories most of those have been too.

"Ruby Walsh, who broke his arm in the opening race of the afternoon, had gone into the Festival's final day as leading rider of the 2014 meeting. He had three wins, alongside both Barry Geraghty and Tom Scudamore, but better placings, having also finished runner-up three times.

"Paul Townend has been called up to replace him on Briar Hill in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle and On His Own in the Cheltenham Gold Cup."
