  1. Ward aims for Albany successpublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 19 June 2020

    13:50 Albany Stakes (6f)

A race for two-year-old fillies is always a bit of a guessing game but especially this year with most of the 14 runners only having one run to their name so far.

American trainer Wesley Ward will hoping to add a first Albany to his collection with Flying Aletha, ridden by William Buick.

Aidan O’Brien has to be respected in races like this and his hopes lie with Mother Earth, the mount of Ryan Moore.

Last year’s race was won by Daahyeh and stablemate Setarhe could repeat the feat for in-form trainer Roger Varian.

Royal Ascot's Ladies' Day was held without any spectators because of coronavirus - but some of those who have missed out this year continue to dress up to watch it on TV.

Flat racing's biggest meeting is taking place behind closed doors in Berkshire for the first time, with strict safety protocols for jockeys.

But keen racegoers have still been enjoying watching at home and have posted pictures on Twitter using the hashtags #StyledWithThanks and #hatsfromhome, while raising cash for charities.

We’ve got a strong favourite for Friday’s opening race in Art Power for jockey Silvestre de Sousa and trainer Tim Easterby.

The three-year-old has wins in his last two runs at York and Newcastle and is well fancied to make it three from three.

After a second place in a Listed race at Sandown on Saturday, Keep Busy is living up to her name and could go well again for rising star Cieren Fallon and John Quinn.

Some may have been tuning in the for The Chase, but it was Hayley Turner's win on Onassis in Thursday's concluding Sandringham Stakes that drew the biggest audience on ITV - with nearly 1.8m tuning in for the contest, which went off 15 minutes late at 16:55 BST.

It was a second successive 33-1 win in the race for Turner, whose victory on Thanks Be last year was the first by a female jockey since 1987. She rides Never Dark in today's opener.

Stradivarius put in a majestic performance to land a third successive Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on Thursday.

Frankie Dettori made his move to the front on the 4-5 favourite with two furlongs to go and looked comfortable.

The pair accelerated beautifully away from the rest of the field to win by 10 lengths with Nayef Road (11-1) second and Cross Counter (7-1) third.

Stradivarius joins Sagaro and Yeats in winning the highlight of the Royal meeting three times.

Trainer John Gosden indicated afterwards that matching Yeats' record of four wins from 2006-09 could be a target for next year.
